LOGAN, Utah – Following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft, former Utah State football players
Wyatt Bowles (OL),
Jacob Garcia (LS) and
Spencer Petras (QB) signed for a chance to play professionally.
Bowles signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams, while Garcia was invited to the Miami Dolphins Rookie Mini-Camp. Petras was invited to the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs Rookie Mini-Camps.
Bowles, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman from West Point, Utah (Syracuse HS) played in 52 career games for Utah State with 20 starts as he logged 1,543 snaps and 51 knockdowns. Bowles played a career-high 94 snaps against UNLV (10/11/24) and posted a career-best four knockdowns against two opponents. During his career, he was a four-time academic All-Mountain West recipient.
Garcia, a 6-0, 250-pound long snapper from Anaheim, California (Servite HS) played in 52 career games for the Aggies and had three career tackles (1 solo). He earned academic All-Mountain West honors three times during his career and was named the Humanitarian Award winner at the 2023 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. As a senior in 2024, Garcia was named to the Wuerffel Trophy and Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List.
Petras, a 6-5, 230-pound quarterback from San Rafael, California (Marin Catholic HS/Iowa) earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors in his one season with Utah State as he started all nine games he played in during the 2024 campaign. He finished the year 214-of-327 (.654) passing for 2,315 yards with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and his completion percentage ranks first all-time in school history for a career and fourth on the single season list with a minimum of 150 completions. Petras finished the season with one 400-yard passing game and three 300-yard games. He set single game school records with 41 completions and 59 attempts against UNLV (10/11/24), while his 461 passing yards against the Rebels are the fifth-most in a single game in school history.
