LOGAN, Utah — Utah State football senior Kahanu Davis has been named to the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List it was announced on Thursday.
 
Davis, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound receiver from Kalaheo, Hawai'i, appeared in eight games last season and served as the team's punt returner. He returned 12 punts for 96 yards, averaging 8.0 yards per return. Against Hawai'i, Davis returned a career-high four punts for a career-best 58 yards, including a career-long of 44 yards. In his first year in Logan in 2023, Davis appeared in four games while redshirting the season, recording two catches for 14 yards.
 
The Polynesian Player of the Year award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry. The 2025 watch list is composed of 81 players from 40 different FBS schools. Finalists for the award will be unveiled on Dec. 9 and the winner will be announced on Dec. 16.
 
Utah State football begins its season on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 5:30 p.m. (MT), as the team welcomes UTEP to Maverik Stadium. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
