Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

PULLMAN, Wash. - Utah State soccer (1-0, 0-0 MW) opened the 2025 campaign in the win column on Thursday night, defeating Washington State 1-0 on a 77th minute goal from Austin Miller at Lower Soccer Field in Pullman.

The Aggie offense got off to a slow start in a scoreless first half, registering just three shots to Washington State's seven in the first 45 minutes, but gained momentum throughout to find its rhythm in the second half. Following the halftime break, USU out-shot Washington State 10-4, including seven shots in the final 30 minutes of action.

After several near misses by the Aggies and a pair of diving saves by USU graduate keeper Taylor Rath to keep the match scoreless, Utah State broke the tie in the 77th minute when a ball deflected by a Cougar defender made its way to Miller just outside the 18-yard box, who followed a volley with a right-footed laser into the back of the net for the game's first and only goal.
