Utah State Hosts McNeese in Non-Conference Game Saturday Night

Game will be televised live on KMYU and streamed on the Mountain West Network at 6 p.m.

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State (2-1, 1-0 MW) hosts McNeese (1-2, 0-0 Southland) on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. The game will be televised regionally on KMYU (Xfinity Ch. 22, DISH / DirecTV Ch. 12) and streamed on the Mountain West Network with Dave Fox (play-by-play), Alema Harrington (analyst) and Frank Dolce (analyst) on the call.

KICKOFF COVERAGE
• Utah State is 2-1 to start a season for the first time since 2021, when that team won its first three games and was 3-1 over its first four outings. USU is 1-0 to start Mountain West play for the first time since 2021.
 
• Utah State has committed just one turnover (fumble at Texas A&M) in its first three games, which is the fewest in program history through three games, according to available records.
 
• Utah State head coach Bronco Mendenhall owns a 142-89 (.615) career record and has led 16 of his 18 teams to bowl eligibility, which ranks third among active FBS coaches. His 142 career wins rank as the sixth-most among active coaches at the FBS level.
 
• Utah State graduate QB Bryson Barnes is this week's Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in USU's 49-30 MW home win against Air Force last weekend. Barnes, who was also named to the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8, accounted for 331 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as he was 17-of-22 passing for 287 yards and two touchdowns and added 44 rushing yards on 15 carries and a career-high three scores. His 287 passing yards are the second-most of his career, including the most in his two years at USU. He is the second player in program history to post three rushing touchdowns and pass for two more in the same game, along with Levi Williams, who accomplished the feat against New Mexico in 2023.
 
• Barnes ranks first in the Mountain West and 15th in the nation in points responsible for at 19.3 ppg, first in the MW and 23rd in the nation in yards per completion (13.51), second in the MW and 14th in the nation in rushing touchdowns with four, second in the MW and 36th in the nation in yards per pass attempt at 8.61, second in the MW and 46th in the nation in passing touchdowns with five, third in the MW and 49th in the nation in passing at 229.7 ypg, and third in the MW and 56th in the nation in total offense at 252.7 ypg.
 
• Utah State, who is looking to win its first three home games for the first time since 2019, has won 12 of its last 17 non-conference home games and is 24-8 (.750) in its last 32 non-conference home games. Overall, USU is 55-25 (.688) in its last 80 home games and 167-121 (.580) all-time at Maverik Stadium.

• Utah State is playing McNeese for the first time in series history and is 1-0 all-time against current members of the Southland Conference as the Aggies posted a 51-17 home win against Stephen F. Austin in 1999.
