LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's basketball fell on the road to Fresno State, 86-56, on Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center.
The Aggies opened the game in rhythm offensively, converting their first two possessions into a layup by senior guard/forward
Jamisyn Heaton and a 3-pointer by sophomore guard
Elise Livingston to take an early lead. After the quick start, however, USU's offense went cold as the Aggies shot 33.3 percent (9-of-27) from the floor in the opening half while FS managed a mark of 54.3 percent (19-of-35) en route to a 42-25 lead at halftime. A 17-5 Bulldog run in the first quarter gave the home side a double-digit lead which Utah State was unable to overcome through the remainder of the contest.
Livingston led the team with 16 points, including 12 in the opening half, on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and a 3-of-4 showing from behind the arc. Heaton added 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, also going 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Senior guard
Karyn Sanford led the team with three assists and two steals, also adding eight points and a block. Senior center
