Utah State Football Has School Record Eight Student-Athletes Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football had a school record eight student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Those earning the recognition include Bryson Barnes, Brady Boyd, Jake Eichorn, Brevin Hamblin, Hyrum Hatch, Javen Jacobs, Broc Lane, and Tyree Morris.

Barnes, a graduate student from Milford, Utah, had a 3.91 GPA while earning his master's degree in business administration this past fall. He earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors in 2024. During the 2025 campaign, Barnes was named second-team All-MW as he started all 13 games and was 211-of-356 (.593) passing for 2,803 yards with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions. Barnes led the team in rushing with 740 yards on 189 carries and set the school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a season with 10.

On the season, Barnes ranked second in the MW and 23rd in the nation in total touchdowns with 29 (2.23 pg), first in the MW and 16th in the nation in yards per completion (13.28), second in the MW and 37th in the nation in yards per pass attempt (7.87), third in the MW and 33rd in the nation in points responsible for at 13.7 per game, third in the MW and 45th in the nation in rushing touchdowns with 10 (0.77 pg), third in the MW and 54th in the nation in passing efficiency (139.3), third in the MW and 47th in the nation in passing touchdowns with 18 (1.38 pg), fourth in the MW and 29th in the nation in total offense (272.5 ypg), fourth in the MW and 58th in the nation in passing (215.6 ypg), sixth in the MW and 80th in the nation in completions per game (16.23), seventh in the MW and 95th in the nation in completion percentage (.593), and seventh in the MW in rushing (56.9 ypg).

Boyd, a graduate student from Southlake, Texas, had a 3.77 GPA majoring in recreation management. Boyd started 12 of the 13 games he played in this season and led the team with eight touchdown receptions, while catching 46 passes for 743 yards to rank second on the team in both categories. On the season, Boyd ranked third in the MW and 22nd in the nation in receiving touchdowns with eight (0.62 pg), fifth in the MW and 52nd in the nation in yards per reception (16.15), and 10th in the MW and 100th nationally in receiving (57.2 ypg).

Eichorn, a senior from Beaver, Utah, graduated this past fall with his bachelor's degree in integrated studies with a 3.58 GPA. During the 2025 season, Eichorn started all 10 games he played in at offensive tackle and recorded 27 knockdowns in 488 snaps.

Hamblin, a junior from Syracuse, Utah, has a 3.64 GPA majoring in integrated studies. He earned Academic All-WAC honors in 2023 and 2024. During the 2025 campaign, Hamblin started 12 of the 13 games he played in and finished second on the team with 114 tackles (57 solo), which included 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. He led the team with two forced fumbles and tied for the team lead with one fumble recovery, while ranking second with eight pass breakups and one interception. On the season, Hamblin ranked sixth in the MW and 28th in the nation in tackles (8.8 pg).

Hatch, a sophomore from Buffalo, Wyoming, has a 3.93 GPA majoring in integrated studies. He served as the team's long snapper in all 13 games this season and finished the year with two tackles.

Jacobs, a junior from Chandler, Arizona, has a 3.68 GPA majoring in communication studies. During the 2025 campaign, he led the team with 1,058 all-purpose yards (81.4 ypg) and tied for third with eight total touchdowns. On the season, Jacobs rushed for 429 yards on 65 carries with five touchdowns, caught 43 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns, returned 11 kickoffs for 219 yards and gained 31 yards on eight punt returns.

Lane, a graduate from Chandler, Arizona, earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science with a 3.62 GPA and is master's in business administration with a 3.69 GPA. Lane earned Academic All-Mountain West honors four times during his career (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024) and was a MW Scholar-Athlete three times (2020, 2022, 2024). During the 2025 season, Lane caught 19 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns as he started seven of the 11 games he played in.

Morris, a junior from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has a 3.86 GPA majoring in sociology. Morris started all 13 games in his first season with USU and finished the year with 48 tackles (13 solo), which included 4.0 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss, while adding one pass breakup.
