LOGAN, Utah – After helping No. 16 Utah State soccer to a 2-0-0 week in Pac-12 play, which included a 2-0 win over Washington State and a 1-0 road win at Boise State, Aggie sophomore goalkeeper Ivy Nystrom was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.
Nystrom, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, played all 180 minutes in net for Utah State last week as she helped the Aggies to a pair of wins and a pair of shutouts. Nystrom recorded a pair of saves in each contest as she picked up her seventh and eighth clean sheets of the year. She now ranks second in the nation in shutouts by a goalkeeper.
This is the league-leading third time this season Nystrom has earned conference DPOW honors, after previously doing so on Aug. 31 and Oct. 5.
UP NEXT
Utah State (11-2-2, 0-0-0 Pac-12) returns to Chuck & Gloria Bell Field this week to host Fresno State on Saturday, Oct. 17. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will be streamed on YouTube.
