LOGAN, Utah — No. 16 Utah State soccer (11-2-3, 4-0-1 Pac-12) earned a scoreless draw with Fresno State on Saturday night at Chuck & Gloria Bell Field. Sophomore goalkeeper
Ivy Nystrom and the Aggie defense recorded their fourth-straight shutout as USU has now allowed only one goal through five matches of Pac-12 play.
Nystrom played all 90 minutes in the net and recorded a pair of saves while Utah State held the Bulldogs to only four shots. The Aggie offense recorded 25 total shots, placing seven on goal. Utah State seemingly found the late winner in the 86
th minute when senior forward
Solena Sellers found junior defender
Kaeda Wilson unmarked in the box for a right-footed goal before VAR overturned the play due to an offsides call. A free kick in the 87
th minute near the top of the penalty area offered another prime opportunity for Utah State to break the deadlock but the shot attempt was sent just above the crossbar.
USU earned eight corner kicks while surrendering only one to Fresno State. The Aggies also drew 13 fouls on the Bulldogs while committing only seven.
