LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior guard Mason Falslev was named to the 2026-27 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

The annual Jerry West Award, named after the late Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player, celebrates its 13th year by highlighting the top shooting guard in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. Falslev, a native of Benson, Utah, is the lone player from outside of the Power 4 and Big East to make the list.

The reigning Mountain West Player of the Year, Falslev is coming off of a career season in which he averaged 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He enters his senior campaign with 1,469 points, 570 rebounds, 317 assists and 192 steals in 104 career games.

Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in each of the three rounds starting on Friday, October 30. In February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2027 Jerry West Award will be narrowed to 10, then to five in March. In late March, the five finalists will be presented to West's family and the Hall of Fame's selection committees, where winners will be selected.

The selection committees for the Jerry West Award is composed of top men's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

The winners of the 2027 West Award will be presented on a to-be-determined date, along with the other four members of the Men's Starting Five.
