LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's men's cross country squad maintains its No. 28 ranking in week three of the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
The Aggies gained an additional vote in this week's rankings to take sole possession of No. 28, finishing with 26 total votes. The standings are mostly unchanged, as few major meets took place last weekend while many top teams are gearing up for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. Utah State also remains sixth in the Mountain Regional rankings, the most competitive region in the country, featuring six nationally ranked teams, the most of any region.
This season, the men's squad has secured three individual wins and two team wins. Most recently, the Aggies claimed both titles at the Idaho State-hosted Bengal Invitational, where junior
Jayden Holdsworth was the top collegiate performer, leading the team to a flawless 15-point day, with Utah State taking the top six collegiate spots.
Utah State entered the polls in week one after a 13th-place finish at the Indiana State-hosted John McNichols Invitational, beating four ranked opponents in the 8K race with help from senior
Garrett Woodhouse's 33
rd-place performance.
Earlier this season the Aggies won at their home course, scoring 25 team points at the Utah State Alumni Challenge, capped by an individual victory from senior
Jedidiah Megargel.
On the same weekend, senior
Joshua McKee represented Utah State at the Mike Baumer XC Classic in Fairborn, Ohio, where he finished first in the 5K race.
