LOGAN, Utah – After helping No. 17 Utah State soccer to a 2-0-0 week to open Pac-12 play, which included a 2-1 win over No. 22 Texas State and a 3-0 road win at Colorado State, Aggie sophomore goalkeeper Ivy Nystrom was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.
Nystrom, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, played all 180 minutes in net for Utah State last week as she helped the Aggies to a pair of wins. She allowed just a single goal on the week and earned a clean sheet against Colorado State, her sixth of the season. Her six shutouts rank 18th in the nation this season. She made three saves on the week, including two at Colorado State.
This is the second time this season Nystrom has earned conference DPOW honors, after previously doing so on Aug. 31.
