Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's basketball (2-0, 0-0 Pac-12) improved to 2-0 on the season with a dominant all-around performance Saturday afternoon at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, defeating Omaha 90-56 in the first ever meeting between the teams.

Along with strong play on both ends of the court by the Aggies, USU's performance was highlighted by a pair of major career scoring milestones in its backcourt, coming in quick succession in the second half.

With 9:11 left in the game, USU graduate guard Dallin Hall scored a triple from the left wing, netting the 1,000th point of his career. Of his now 1,005 career points, 772 came during his three seasons at BYU, 214 came last season at Virginia, with the remaining 17 coming in an Aggie uniform this season.

Just three minutes later at the 6:34 mark, senior guard Mason Falslev hit a triple of his own, burying the 1,500th point of his career, all of which have come during his decorated Utah State career. Falslev became just the 14th player in USU history to hit that mark.

Falslev assisted on the milestone triple for Hall, while Hall assisted on the milestone triple for Falslev.

Utah State leaned on suffocating defense throughout the contest, holding the Mavericks to just 29.2 percent (19-of-65) shooting from the field in the win. This was the lowest shooting percentage by an Aggie opponent in over a season, since UNLV on March 13, 2025 (23.6 percent).

USU led from nearly start to finish, playing from the front for over 39 minutes and leading by as many as 43 points. After five competitive opening minutes, the Aggies blew things open with a 32-7 run to close out the first half. At the break, Utah State was in front 44-21.

The Aggies followed a strong first half on the offensive end with an even stronger second half, putting 46 more points on the board while seeing its field goal percentage jump from 55 percent to 63 percent after the break. After establishing their largest lead of the night at 43 points, Omaha closed the game with an 11-2 run in the final two minutes to narrow the gap.

Along with his milestone basket, Falslev posted a double-double as he led the team in both scoring and rebounds with 22 points and 10 boards. He tied the team lead with seven assists, and tallied four steals to round out his stat line in 33 minutes of action.

Hall also dished out seven assists, while scoring nine points and bringing down seven boards with two blocks.

Junior guard Solomon Callaghan had his second double-digit scoring performance in as many games as an Aggie, finishing the day with 16 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range. He also had three boards and a steal in 23 minutes of action.

While the Mavericks posted a slight edge on the glass with 41 rebounds to USU's 39, the Aggies dominated the paint with a 52-20 advantage in points down low.

Utah State finished the day shooting 58.3 percent (35-of-60) from the field, 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from 3-point range and 57.1 percent (12-of-21) at the free throw line. Omaha shot 29.2 percent (19-of-65) from the floor, 22.6 percent (7-of-31) from deep and 78.6 percent (11-of-14) at the charity stripe.
