LOS ANGELES, California - Utah State men's tennis fell in at Loyola Marymount, 4-3, on Sunday at the LMU Tennis Center.
 
Doubles
USU jumped out to an early advantage after securing the doubles point with wins at the first and second positions. Senior Jean-Baptiste Badon and sophomore Dmitri Goubin posted a dominant 6-0 win at the second position before sophomore Xavier Calvelo and freshman Jakub Medved added a 6-4 victory at the top spot to secure the match's first point. At the third spot, sophomore Emmanuel Alex and senior Eemil Pasanen trailed 5-4 when the match was abandoned.

Singles
Heading into singles play with a 1-0 lead, the Aggies picked up two wins but ultimately fell short of the team victory. Sophomore Eliot Nobel led the way with a commanding 6-0, 6-2 victory at the third position, while sophomore Roman Venger added another point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the fourth spot to give Utah State a 3-0 lead in the match. Loyola Marymount responded with wins at the first, second, fifth and sixth positions, including a pair of three-set victories at Nos. 5 and 6, to rally and claim the overall match, 4-3.
