ATHENS, Ga. – Utah State softball (9-6, 0-0 MW) beat Seton Hall 3-1 in their fifth and final game of the Georgia Classic at Jack Turner Softball Stadium on Sunday.

USU rode a career day from freshman infielder Jazmin Ramirez and a complete game from senior Rylie Pindel to a 3-1 win in its second meeting with the Pirates.

The Aggie offense got traffic on the basepaths in the early innings but couldn't cash in, stranding three runners in the first and two in the second. In the third inning, Ramirez hit her first career home run, bringing home senior outfielder Kya Pratt to stake the Aggies to a 2-0 lead.

Seton Hall rallied in the top of the fourth, putting two runners on base with one out. Sophomore catcher Jaelyn Castillo recovered a wild pitch to cut down the lead runner at third base, neutralizing the Pirate threat.

Ramirez came through for the Aggies again in the fifth, doubling to right-center field to bring home Pratt. With the Aggies leading 3-0, Seton Hall made one last rally in the seventh, but Pindel held the Pirates to just one run to close out the 3-1 victory.

Ramirez led the Aggie offense, going 2-2 with a career-high three RBIs. Pratt and junior infielder Keely Goushá each went 2-3, with Pratt scoring two of USU's three runs.

Pindel pitched a complete game in the win, conceding one earned run and five hits while inducing 17 groundouts. The right-hander from Las Vegas allowed just two earned runs over 12.0 innings pitched in her two appearances in the Georgia Classic.
