EUGENE, Oregon - Utah State men's tennis fought back to tie the match in singles play before falling, 4-3, at Oregon on Friday night at the Student Tennis Center.
 
Doubles 
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead with wins at the second and third positions of the doubles lineup. At the top spot, sophomore Eliot Nobel and freshman Jakub Medved battled the nation's No. 28th-ranked doubles team before the match was abandoned while facing a 5-3 deficit. 

Singles 
Utah State rallied in singles play to challenge for the match as sophomore Xavier Calvelo led the charge with a 6-0, 6-4 win at the second position to tie the match at 1-1. Oregon then reclaimed the lead with a pair of wins at the first and sixth positions to go up, 3-1.

The Aggies then took the remaining three matches each to three sets. At the fourth position, sophomore Roman Venger took back momentum after dropping the second set to dominate the third in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory. After falling in a first-set tiebreaker, Nobel then completed the comeback for a three-set victory at the third position, 6-7 (1), 6-3, 6-1, to tie the match at 3-3. At the fifth position, Medved came back from a first-set loss at the fifth position to force a third set, also coming back from 4-0 down in the final frame to tie the set at 5-5 before Oregon finally claimed the match with a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 victory
