BOCA RATON, Florida - In already their fifth one-point match of the season, Utah State men's tennis fell at Florida Atlantic, 4-3, on Tuesday at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center. The Aggies will enter Mountain West action next week at 7-5

Doubles 
USU began strong, taking the doubles point with wins at the top two spots in the lineup. At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Xavier Calvelo and freshman Jakub Medved were unblemished en route to a 6-0 victory. After the Owls claimed victory at the third position, senior Jean-Baptiste Badon and sophomore Dmitri Goubin outlasted their foes in a tiebreak at the second position to take a 7-6 (1) victory and give the Aggies a 1-0 lead.

Singles 
FAU made the first move of singles play, tying the match with a win at the fourth court. At No. 2 singles, Calvelo recorded a victory by opponent retirement while ahead in the match, 7-6 (5), 4-2. Goubin also recorded his second victory of the day to put USU up, 3-1, with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at the sixth position. The Owls, however, claimed wins in the final three matches, including two going three sets, to ultimately take the team victory.

Next Up
Utah State returns to the Sports Academy & Racquet Club to begin Mountain West play with a two-match home stand. The Aggies will host UNLV on Friday, March 20, at 3 p.m. (MT), before taking on Nevada on Sunday, March 22, at 10 a.m. (MT).
