LOGAN, Utah – Utah State hosted representatives from 16 National Football League teams as 14 former Aggies auditioned for a career in professional football during USU's annual Pro Day at the iFIT Sports Performance Center and the Stan Laub Indoor Training Center on Wednesday.
The 14 former Aggies that participated included: defensive back
Noah Avinger (who measured at 5-foot-11.7", 188 pounds), quarterback
Bryson Barnes (6-1.2, 213), wide receiver
Brady Boyd (6-1.3, 195), wide receiver
Kahanu Davis (5-9.3, 174), running back
Miles Davis (5-10.4, 211), offensive lineman
Jake Eichorn (6-4.4, 303), defensive tackle
Naki Fahina (5-11.2, 292), defensive tackle
Gabriel Iniguez Jr. (6-1, 292), tight end
Broc Lane (6-3.7, 246), safety
Ike Larsen (5-10.3, 198), linebacker
John Miller (6-0.6, 231), safety
Bryson Taylor (6-0.2, 191), defensive back
Dylan Tucker (5-10.6, 193) and linebacker Clyde Washington (6-2.2, 227).
In addition to having their official heights and weights measured, the former Aggies were put through a variety of speed and strength tests, including the 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, three-cone drill, broad jump and vertical jump.
Fahina posted one of the highlights of the day, recording 35 repetitions on the bench press at 225-pounds of weight. Fahina's mark would have ranked second among all participants at this year's NFL Combine and is the highest mark at an Utah State pro day since Kevin Whimpey recorded 29 reps in 2015.
Avinger also had a standout day, posting a broad jump of 11-foot-4 that would have topped the list at this year's Combine. Avinger's vertical jump of 42 inches also would have been top-10 at the Combine this year while his 17 reps on the bench press would have tied for best among defensive backs.
Boyd also stood out with marks of 40 inches in the vertical jump, 10-foot-10 in the broad jump and a 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds. Taylor led the participating Aggies in the 40 with a time of 4.40, achieved on each of his attempts, and added marks of 37.5 inches in the vertical jump and 10-foot-5 in the broad jump. Tucker put down a 38-inch vertical, a 10-7 broad jump and a time of 4.53 in the 40-yard dash. K. Davis went sub-4.50 in the 40, recording a time of 4.45 alongside a 35-inch vertical and a 9-11 broad jump. M. Davis recorded a 4.50 40, a 10-2 broad jump and a 39-inch vertical. Eichorn recorded 25 reps at the bench press while Iniguez Jr posted 26 reps. Larsen posted a 37-inch vertical, a 10-1 broad jump and a 4.56 time in the 40-yard dash. Miller recorded 17 reps on the bench press, a 36-inch vertical and a 9-8 broad jump.
All times and marks listed are unofficial.
