LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head men's basketball coach Ben Jacobson announced the signing of guard Jax Allen on Thursday. Allen will join the Aggies in 2026-27 as a freshman out of Orem (Utah) High School.
Allen, a 6-foot-4 guard, was a four-year letterwinner at Orem HS, where he was a two-time Utah 5A All-State selection as he totaled 1,038 points, 329 rebounds, 217 assists and 105 steals in his career. As a senior in 2024-25, Allen averaged 13.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest, while helping the Tigers to a 21-4 record, a Region 7 title and a state tournament quarterfinal appearance.
During his junior season, Allen also helped his squad to a Region 7 championship and a 5A state quarterfinal appearance, earning all-state second team honors as he averaged 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He shot 46 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent at the free throw line that season.
Allen originally signed with Utah State in November of 2024 before graduating and serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is the younger brother of Drake Allen, who played guard for the Aggies the past two seasons.
