LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head women's basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the signing of Danika Galea on Thursday.
"Danika will provide a physical interior presence that I have been searching for since I took the job here two years ago," Brooks said. "Her ability to seal, spin, duck-in and slip with her size and strength makes her a nightmare for our opponents. Add her experience playing 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 internationally and her SEC experience and we feel we hit a home run by signing her."
Galea, a 6-foot-3 center, arrives in Logan after spending the past two seasons at Arkansas. There, Galea appeared in 47 games and averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 49.2 percent from the field. She scored a career-high 10 points three times during her freshman year, also grabbing a career-high six rebounds on three occasions, including against Georgia in the SEC Tournament. She set a career-high this past season with four blocks against Auburn.

Galea won MVP at the 2023 FIBA U18 Division C with Malta, winning the gold medal for the country for the first time since 2007. She averaged a 29 points and 19 rebounds per game on 65.1 percent shooting from the field (41-for-63). In the title game vs. Albania, Galea posted an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double for Malta.
