LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head women's basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the hiring of Nic Kjaerholt as assistant coach and director of video and analytics on Friday.
"Nic will serve as our director of video and analytics," Brooks said. "He has a firm understanding of my vision and a thorough grasp of analytics and how the numbers impact what we are trying to do on the court and, in this era of basketball, how the numbers can impact a player's potential coming out of the portal and as an incoming freshman."
In his role, Kjaerholt supports all areas of the program, with a primary focus on video coordination, scouting preparation and player development. He works closely with the staff to break down opponents, organize film, and prepare scouting reports that help guide game planning. His approach blends film study with analytics to provide clear, actionable feedback for both coaches and student-athletes.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Utah State women's basketball and be part of this program," Kjaerholt said. "This is a place with a clear vision and a commitment to doing things the right way, and I am excited to contribute to this program. I'm especially thankful for the chance to work with Wesley Brooks and this staff—being around people who value people, development, accountability and team culture is something I don't take lightly."
On the court, Kjaerholt is involved in skill development, offensive concepts and daily practice planning. He works with players to improve decision-making, efficiency, and overall understanding of the game, helping translate preparation into performance. Kjaerholt also contributes to recruiting and program operations, assisting with player evaluation, visits, and the day-to-day organization of the program. His background includes experience working with both domestic and international student-athletes, along with a strong understanding of NCAA compliance and academic support.
Prior to Utah State, Kjaerholt gained experience across multiple collegiate programs in roles that included coaching, operations, and student-athlete support with stops at Wheeling University, Life University and West Virginia Tech. He has been part of staffs that reached the NCAA Tournament, competed in conference championship settings and consistently performed at a top-25 level. He has also contributed to programs that earned conference tournament championships and postseason appearances, while supporting the development of all-conference and all-American players.
As a coach, Kjaerholt has worked with offensive game planning, film breakdown, and player development, helping teams improve efficiency and prepare for high-level competition. His experience spans multiple levels of college basketball, giving him a broad perspective on player growth and team development.
A former collegiate player and team captain at WVU Tech, Kjaerholt brings a team-first mindset to his work, emphasizing preparation, accountability, and consistency. Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, he has represented Danish national teams at multiple youth levels.
Kjaerholt is married to USU associate head coach Anna Kjaerholt, and the couple has two sons, Noah and Kylo.
