LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (19-32, 7-15 MW) concluded the home portion of its 2026 campaign with a loss Tuesday afternoon at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field, falling to Weber State 11-7.
The Aggies established an early lead, scoring six runs before allowing one, but Weber State closed the game with all 11 of its runs in the final four innings to come from behind. USU first scored in the second inning with a leadoff home run by senior infielder Kaylee Erickson, her 11th homer of the season. The Aggies scored again when a double from senior catcher Grace Matej was followed by a sacrifice fly by sophomore catcher Jaelyn Castillo to make it 2-0.
Utah State scored four more in the third inning. After a leadoff base hit then a walk, senior infielder Alex Bunton delivered a single up the middle to bring junior outfielder Keely Goushá home. A home run for senior outfielder Kya Pratt then cleared the bases and put USU up 6-0.
The Wildcats then clawed back with 11-straight runs. They scored three in the fourth inning, one in the fifth, three in the sixth and four in the seventh to take control. USU's final run of the day came in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single for freshman infielder Kate Vance.
Utah State finished with eight hits to Weber State's 19. Bunton and Pratt led the way, each going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Senior Rylie Pindel started the game in the pitching circle, and threw 3.1 innings before freshman Jordyn Lish entered for the next 2.0 innings. Freshman Kendall Cochran closed the game with the final 1.2 innings.
