Women’s Basketball Signs Sami Mancini

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head women's basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the signing of Sami Mancini on ​​Monday.

"We are excited to have Sami join our team," Brooks said. "She provides us with additional depth inside and brings a toughness, physicality and skill inside. She can also step outside and shoot. Sami is a competitor and we look forward to continuing her development within our program."
 
Mancini, a 6-foot-4 center from Webb City, Missouri, comes to Logan after spending the past two years at Providence. After redshirting in 2024-25, Mancini appeared in 28 games for the Friars last season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. She scored a career-high 12 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, against Creighton, adding four rebounds and one assist while shooting 4-of-8 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line. Against Villanova, Mancini grabbed four rebounds and dished a season-best two assists and against Seton Hall, posted five points and one rebound while hitting her first career 3-pointer. Mancini also grabbed a season-high five rebounds against Northeastern.

Prior to Providence, Mancini attended Webb City (Missouri) High School where she earned First Team All-Central Ozarks Conference honors, plus all-area, all-district and all-state recognitions. Mancini averaged 16.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game for the Cardinals while shooting 70 percent from the field. Mancini also played on the AAU circuit for Lady Push (3SSB).
