Women’s Basketball Signs Catalina Roco

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head women's basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the signing of Catalina Roco on ​Tuesday.

"Catalina gives us another elite shooter on the floor having shot a blistering 46 percent on 3-pointers last season," Brooks said. "She also brings quickness and athleticism to our roster which will allow her to be a defensive asset as well."
 
Roco, a 5-foot-6 guard originally from Quillota, Chile, comes to Utah State after spending her first two seasons at Daytona State College. This past season for the Falcons, Roco appeared in 29 games with 11 starts, averaging 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, leading the team to the FCSAA Citrus Conference regular season title and the quarterfinals of the FCSAA championship quarterfinals. Roco served as the team's sharpshooter, hitting 65 3-pointers on a 46.4 percent clip, also shooting 75.6 percent from the free throw line. Roco hit multiple 3s in a game on 22 occasions last year, including a career-high seven makes en route to 24 points at St. Petersburg College. She filled the stat sheet against Santa Fe College, scoring eight points alongside career-highs of eight rebounds and six assists. Roco averaged 7.8 points per game alongside 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a freshman in 2024-25. She scored a season-high 15 points against Miami Dade College, hitting four triples in the game alongside a season-high six rebounds. 

In Chile, Roco played for Sportive Italiana W and appeared with the U17 Chilean national team at the 2023 South American Women's Championship, appearing in four games and averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest, posting her best outing with 12 points against Venezuela. Against Ecuador in the group stage, Roco also recorded five points alongside four rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block.
