LOGAN, Utah – Utah State track & field senior Logan Hammer and junior Landon Bott have been named Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced on Tuesday.
This is the second-straight season that Utah State sees two honorees, following Camren Todd and Logan Garnica in 2025.
Hammer, who was named to the first team, completed his bachelor's degree in veterinary science this spring, graduating with a 3.62 GPA. He is the third first-team selection in program history, joining former Aggies Daniel Howel and Kashley Carter, who were named to the team in 2012 and 2019, respectively. Hammer previously earned CSC Academic All-District and USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades in 2025 and is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West selection and two-time MW Scholar-Athlete. The pole vaulter broke his previous school record at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June, clearing 5.75 meters (18-10.25) to become the national runner-up and secure his fifth-straight All-American honor, and second selection to the first team.
Bott, a second-team selection, is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in technical sales management, maintaining a GPA of 3.50. He was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team in 2025 and has been a MW Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-MW honoree twice apiece. Bott received Second-Team All-America recognition during both the indoor and outdoor seasons in the 800m, crossing the line at 1:52.28 and 1:46.53 at the respective championships. In 2026, he broke the indoor school record in the 800m, clocking a 1:47.55, and set times that rank among the top three in the outdoor 800m and the indoor DMR.
