Keith Smith announced the team's full 2026 signing class. The Aggies will welcome in 12 new players for the 2026 season.
Smith announced the transfer additions of Sophie Scott (Portland, Oregon/Cal), Lauren Bodily (Woods Cross, Utah/West Virginia), Solia Angilau (South Jordan, Utah/New Mexico), Sami Blackett (Orem, Utah/Utah Valley), Silina Damuni (Provo, Utah/BYU), Addy Cook (Herriman, Utah/Wyoming) and Lily LaFlesch (Gilbert, Arizona(Wyoming), bringing the full total of incoming transfers to eight along with the previously announced addition of
Olivia Ruy (Salt Lake City, Utah/Maryland).
Smith also added to the class of incoming freshmen, announcing the addition of Justyna Novakova (Jablonec Nad Nisou, Czech Republic) to join previous signees
AC Gibbs (The Woodlands, Texas),
Taytum Nelson (Orem, Utah) and
Madi Rich (Highland, Utah).
Scott, a 6-foot-4 middle blocker from Portland, Oregon, joins the Aggies after spending the past four seasons at Cal where she appeared in 62 total matches. In her career, Scott has logged 178.0 blocks and recorded 199 kills on a .245 hitting percentage. This past season in Berkeley, Scott averaged 1.29 kills per set while hitting .250 and added 28.0 total blocks. As a freshman in 2022, Scott tallied 100.0 blocks on the year, ranking eighth in the Pac-12, alongside 90 kills and 34 digs. Scott then posted a 1.04 blocks-per-set average as a sophomore in 2023, ranking 11th in the Pac-12, and adding 55 kills in an injury-shortened season. Scott posted a career-high 10 kills this past season against Boston College and recorded a career-high nine blocks as a freshman against Oregon State. Scott was also a 2024-25 ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
Prior to Cal, Scott played her high school career at The Catlin Gabel School in Portland. There, Scott led the team to a 2020 League title as a six-rotation starter and team captain. For her career, she hit .317 and amassed 355 kills, 98 service aces, 136 blocks and 172 digs. She was named PrepVolleyball Soph 79 selection and was named to PrepDig's 2020 Top Middle Blockers list and the 2020 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Phenom Watch List. In 2021, she was named to the Postseason State All-Star Team, the 17U Dream Team Preseason list and the 2021 Oregonian Players to Watch. Scott was twice named an all-league selection and was named second-team all-state in 2019 after helping the team to its first-ever league title.
Bodily, a 6-4 right side hitter from Woods Cross, Utah, comes to USU after spending the past three seasons at West Virginia where she appeared in 119 sets across 51 matches, amassing 107 kills, 54 blocks and 22 digs. She recorded a career-high 11 kills and four blocks as a sophomore against College of Charleston. Bodily tied her career-high with four blocks as a junior against Kansas State and registered a season-high 10 kills against Houston. This past year, Bodily appeared in 19 matches and recorded a season-high five kills against both Utah and Iowa State.
Prior to West Virginia, Bodily began her college career at Iowa Western CC. In her lone season in Council Bluffs, Bodily ranked third on the team with 223 kills and 92 blocks, also adding 45 digs while helping the Reivers to the Midwest District B semifinals. Bodily played her high school career at Woods Cross (Utah) High School. As a senior, Bodily recorded 186 kills plus 44 blocks, 52 digs and 18 aces while helping the Wildcats to the semifinals of the Utah 5A State playoffs.
Angilau, a 6-1 middle blocker from South Jordan, Utah, joins the Aggies after spending her sophomore season at New Mexico. For the Lobos, Angilau appeared in 20 matches with 10 starts, finishing with 62 kills on a .212 hitting percentage alongside 53 total blocks, ranking second on the team with 0.95 blocks per set, also adding 20 digs on the season. She twice recorded a season-high nine kills against Prairie View A&M and Portland State and posted a season-best .500 hitting percentage against Houston Christian. Angilau also registered a season-high eight blocks against both Portland State and Boise State. Prior to New Mexico, Angilau played her freshman campaign at Cal Baptist where she played in 13 matches, recording 37 kills on a .213 hitting percentage alongside 25 blocks and nine digs. She recorded a career-high 10 kills against Tarleton State on a career-best .714 hitting percentage.
Angilau was a four-year varsity starter at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah, earning 2023 all-state honorable mention and first team all-region honors while helping the team go 27-5 and win the region title. Angilau recorded 118 kills, 62 blocks and 35 digs during her senior year to help the Miners reach the semifinals of the state tournament.
Blackett, a 6-1 outside hitter from Orem, Utah, comes to Utah State after spending her first two seasons at Utah Valley, earning back-to-back First Team All-WAC honors for the Wolverines. At UVU, Blackett amassed 771 kills plus 131 blocks, 461 digs, 56 assists and 67 aces while leading the team to back-to-back postseason appearances, earning an NIVC invite in 2024 before winning the 2025 WAC Tournament to reach the program's third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. In 2024, Blackett posted 467 kills plus 228 digs, 74 blocks and 41 aces, earning WAC Co-Freshman of the Year honors. She eclipsed 15 kills in 14 matches during her freshman year, including a school-record 33 kills against Cal Baptist, also setting a career-high with seven blocks. Blackett recorded seven double-doubles on the year, including a 27-kill, 12-dig outing against Utah Tech. In 2025, Blackett reached double-digit kills in 17 matches, reaching a season-high 21 kills in back-to-back matches against Weber State and BYU. Blackett added another four double-doubles during the season, including 12 kills with a career-high 18 digs against Utah Tech in the WAC Tournament championship match.
Before UVU, Blackett played her high school career at Orem (Utah) High School, twice earning all-state honors and being named the 2023 Utah 4A State Player of the Year while leading the Tigers to the state title. Blackett tallied over 1,100 kills during her high school career while hitting .210, including a .265 mark her senior season. She also added nearly 600 digs and over 150 aces and 100 blocks during her Tiger career. At Orem HS, Blackett played alongside current Aggie middle blocker
Ava Napierski. Blackett also played at the club level for Club V.
Damuni, a 5-9 setter from Provo, Utah, joins the Aggies after spending her freshman year at BYU in 2023 and subsequently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For the Cougars, Damuni appeared in 11 sets across eight matches, recording seven assists alongside seven digs. Prior to BYU, Damuni was a standout performer at Timpview High School in Provo, breaking the state record for career assists with 3,467 during her time with the Thunderbirds. Damuni led the team to 5A state titles in 2020 and 2022 and three-straight region titles from 2020 through 2022. Damuni was a four-time all-state honoree, thrice earning first team honors and being named the Utah 5A Player of the Year in 2022. With her club team, Damuni also earned a third place finish at nationals in 2022.
Cook, a 6-1 outside hitter from Herriman, Utah, comes to USU after spending her freshman year at Wyoming where she ranked third on the team with 221 kills while appearing in 29 out of 30 matches with 15 starts. Cook averaged 2.23 kills per set on a .213 hitting percentage for the Cowgirls as a freshman, also adding 53 blocks and 53 digs on the year. She reached double-digit kills in nine matches, including five matches over 15 kills. Cook posted a season-high of 21 kills against New Mexico while hitting .340 on 47 total attempts. Cook recorded a season-high five digs three times, doing so against Idaho State, Long Beach State and Air Force, and reached five blocks three times as well, reaching the plateau against TCU, Nevada and Utah State.
Cook was a multi-time all-region and all-state performer for Mountain Ridge High School in Herriman, earning third-team all-state honors as a junior before earning a first-team nod her senior season. Cook tallied nearly 1,500 kills during her career for the Sentinels, topping 500 kills as a senior on a .289 hitting percentage alongside 28 aces, 35 blocks and 194 digs. Cook also played at the club level for Club GSL.
LaFlesch, a 5-7 libero/defensive specialist from Gilbert, Arizona, arrives in Logan after playing her freshman season at Wyoming. For the Cowgirls, LaFlesch played in 109 sets with 19 starts, ranking third on the team with 275 digs on a 2.52 per set average. She recorded double-digit digs in 16 matches and cleared 15 digs on five occasions, including a 20-dig outing against San Jose State. LaFlesch added 22 aces, second-most on the team, including a season-high three against San Diego State in the Mountain West Tournament.
Prior to Wyoming, LaFlesch played her high school career at Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona. During her career with the Pumas, LaFlesch recorded over 1,000 digs plus 189 assists and 100 aces, leading Perry to the state playoffs as a junior and senior, including a run to the state title game in 2024. LaFlesch was named the 2023 All-CUSD Defensive Player of the Year and was a multiple-time all-conference and all-region team honoree during her prep career. LaFlesch was also a highly-decorated beach volleyball player and was named a team captain in 2024.
Novakova, a 5-11 outside hitter, joins the Aggies out of Jablonec Nad Nisou, Czech Republic. The last two years, Novakova played outside hitter for VK Selmy Brno, helping the team to a first-place finish in both the Czechia Extraliga and CzechCup last season after going 21-1. In 2025-26, Novakova totaled 192 kills for Selmy, also adding 26 blocks and 23 aces. She recorded a season-high 15 kills against Frydek-Mistek, a season-high four blocks against Olymp and recorded three aces in a match three times during the year. Prior to Selmy, Novakova played libero in 2023-24 from VK Dukla Liberec, helping the team to a Czech Cup title and a second-place finish in the Czechia Extraliga. Novakova is also a veteran of the Czech national teams, playing at both the U20 and U22 levels.
