LOGAN, Utah – Utah State soccer junior forward Ellie Hendrix has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Aug. 30. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With their sponsorship of the student-athlete of the week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Hendrix, a native of St. George, Utah, helped Utah State to a 2-0 week with a 1-0 win at Utah Valley on Monday and a 1-0 win at Utah on Thursday. Against the Wolverines, Hendrix scored the game-winning goal, a 35th minute strike. She played 55 minutes and took two shots, both of which were on frame. Against the Utes, she also scored the game-winning goal, scoring in the 76th minute. She played 54 minutes and took one shot. On the week, Hendrix totaled two goals, three shots with three shots on goal in 109 total minutes.

Utah State (3-1-1, 0-0-0 Pac-12) returns home this week as it hosts Utah Tech on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Chuck & Gloria Bell. Kick off is slated for 7:30 p.m., and the match will be streamed on YouTube.
TICKETS
Fans can purchase season tickets now here. Adult season tickets are available for $100, while youth can gain access to all games by joining the Junior Aggie Kids Club for $40. All seating at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field is general admission. Seating in the stadium bleachers is first come, first served. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for grass and berm seating.

VOLLEYBALL
Junior outside hitter Ava Nakai (Spanish Fork, Utah) tied for the team lead with 24 kills during USU's season-opening weekend at the Bluegrass Battle in losses to Kentucky (3-0), Eastern Kentucky (3-1) and South Florida (3-0). Against the third-ranked Wildcats, she had six kills and added two digs and an assist. Nakai then posted seven kills against EKU alongside two blocks and a dig. In the last match of the weekend against USF, Nakai led the Aggies with 11 kills and added four digs and one block. She finished the weekend hitting .200 on 60 total attempts.
