LOGAN, Utah – A pair of Utah State soccer players were honored by the Pac-12 Conference, the league announced on Tuesday, as junior forward Ellie Hendrix was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore goalkeeper Ivy Nystrom was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.
The duo helped lead the Aggies to a 2-0 showing last week with a pair of in-state road wins, defeating Utah Valley 1-0 on Aug. 24, and earning a 1-0 win at Utah on Aug. 27.
Hendrix, a native of St. George, Utah, scored a pair of game-winning goals, the team's only two goals of the week in the set of 1-0 wins. Against the Wolverines, Hendrix scored with a 35th minute strike. She played 55 minutes and took two shots, both of which were on frame. Against the Utes, she put the Aggies on top in the 76th minute. She played 54 minutes and took one shot. On the week, Hendrix totaled two goals, three shots with three shots on goal in 109 total minutes.
Nystrom, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, earned a pair of clean sheets in net in what were the second and third appearances and starts of her college career. Nystrom played all 180 minutes in goal for the Aggies, tallying five saves against the Wolverines and two saves against the Utes. She made one of USU's key plays in the win over Utah Valley, making a diving penalty kick save in the 74th minute to maintain the shutout and secure the win.

Utah State (3-1-1, 0-0-0 Pac-12) returns home this week as it hosts Utah Tech on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Chuck & Gloria Bell. Kick off is slated for 7:30 p.m., and the match will be streamed on YouTube.

All seating at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field is general admission. Seating in the stadium bleachers is first come, first served. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for grass and berm seating.
