LOGAN, Utah – A pair of Utah State soccer players were honored by the Pac-12 on Tuesday after helping the Aggies to a 4-0 win over No. 13 BYU and a 4-0 win over South Dakota State last week. Senior forward Solena Sellers was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore defender Summer Sofonia was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Sellers, a native of Highland, Utah, scored goals in both games last week for Utah State, striking in the 68th minute against BYU and in the 51st minute against South Dakota State. She took six shots on the week, all six of which were on frame, including a team-best five shots against the Jackrabbits. She totaled 82 minutes on the pitch across the two games.
Sofonia, a native of Hyrum, Utah, started both matches and played all 180 minutes for the Aggies in the pair of wins. She scored the opening goal against BYU in the 10th minute to put Utah State ahead early. She also anchored an Aggie defense which posted a pair of shutouts and limited its opponents to just a combined four shots on goal on the week.
Sellers and Sofonia join junior forward Ellie Hendrix and sophomore defender Ivy Nystrom, who earned Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, on Sept. 1.

No. 18 Utah State (6-2-1, 0-0-0 Pac-12) wraps up its nonconference slate this week as it travels to face Idaho State on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m., then hosts Saint Mary's on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.

Fans can purchase season tickets now here. Adult season tickets are available for $100, while youth can gain access to all games by joining the Junior Aggie Kids Club for $40. All seating at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field is general admission. Seating in the stadium bleachers is first come, first served. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for grass and berm seating.
