LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head men's tennis coach Aaron Paajanen announced the team's 2026 signing class on ​Friday. The Aggies will welcome in five freshmen for the 2026-27 season in Alejandro Daniel Garcia (Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico), George Hakopian (Dana Point, California), Max Kohler (Villach, Austria), Alvar Lange (Stockholm, Sweden) and Adam Miner (St. George, Utah).

Daniel Garcia comes to Logan after attending Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, California. Originally from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Daniel Garcia has a career-high ITF Junior ranking of 3,190 and has posted a 12-4 record in ITF junior singles matches, also going 2-1 in doubles play. He advanced out of qualifying draws in three-straight tournaments in 2025, reaching the main draws of the J60 Victories, J30 San Diego and J60 San Diego, where he also reached the second round of the main draw.

Hakopian joins USU out of Dana Point, California. Training under club coach Ross Duncan, Hakopian was ranked the No. 1 player in the southwest region in three-consecutive years by the USTA and is a five-star prospect as rated by the Tennis Recruiting Network. Ranked as the 13th-highest recruit in the nation, Hakopian has a career-high ITF Ranking of 1,785 and has compiled a 7-1 singles record versus other five-star recruits. Playing on the UTR Pro Tennis Series in 2026, Hakopian has gone 17-22 in singles play.

Kohler joins the Aggies out of Villach, Austria, where he attended Waldorfschule Klagenfurt and Bachmann Abendgymnasium Klagenfurt. He has a career-high ITF world ranking of 2,035th and has gone 6-13 in ITF men's singles matches, including a pair of wins at the M15 Mistelbach in 2025. Kohler also earned victories at the M15 Wels, M15 Vienna, M15 Slovenj Gradec and M15 Opatija tournaments. At the junior level, Kohler went 10-12 in singles matches and climbed as high as 2,910 in the ITF Junior Rankings.

Lange comes to USU after achieving a career-high ITF Junior world ranking of 312th and claiming three ITF titles. Lange won the J30 Nastola singles tournament in 2023 and has two doubles titles to his name after winning the J30 Hanko in 2023 and the J60 Vierumaki in 2024. Lange has also climbed to 1171^st in the ITF men's world rankings, going 4-5 in singles play including a run to the third round of the M15 Heraklion in April of 2026. Overall in his career, Lange has gone 63-48 in singles matches and 43-36 in doubles. He attended Celsiusskolan in Uppsala, Sweden, helping the team to a national third-place finish, and also played at the club level for Enskede LTK.

Miner comes to Utah State after a decorated career at Crimson Cliffs High School in Washington, Utah. Miner was a four-time 4A individual state singles champion from 2023-26, compiling a career record of 56-2 for the Mustangs, including a 7-0 mark during his senior season. Miner ranks among the top 250 tennis recruits in the nation according to the Tennis Recruiting Network and is the sixth-highest rated recruit in the mountain region.
