Biography

Bryan Marchant is taking over as co-interim head coach for the Utah State tennis program,along with Lukas Bouton, after spending the 2012 season as an assistant coach at USU. Marchant came to Utah State after graduating from Olympus High School in Salt Lake City, Utah and was a four-year letterwinner for the Aggies (2006, 2009-11). After his freshman season in 2006, he left to serve an LDS Church Mission in Fort Worth, Texas. During his senior season, Marchant finished with an individual record of 18-12 and led the team with 14 conference wins. Marchant also posted a 22-10 doubles record with Sven Poslusny during his senior year as the duo earned second-team all-Western Athletic Conference doubles honors. As a junior, Marchant posted a 16-14 singles record and a 17-13 doubles mark. And as a sophomore, Marchant was 14-17 in singles play and 14-16 in doubles action. Marchant also earned academic all-WAC honors three times (2009, 2010, 2011) during his collegiate career.

2011 (Sr.): Ended the season second on the team with an 18-12 overall singles record, including a 14-7 mark in dual matches and a 2-3 ledger against Mountain West foes while playing exclusively at the No. 4 spot… Recorded a season-high four-match winning streak in singles from Jan. 26 through March 5… Teamed with Sven Poslusny (22-10) and Jakob Asplund (2-1) in doubles play, including a 14-8 record in dual matches and a 4-2 mark against Mountain West foes with Poslusny.

2010 (Jr.): Finished the season with a 16-14 record in singles action... Also shares the season-high doubles record of 17-12 with Jakob Asplund.

2009 (So.): Finished with a 7-11 record during the season, including a 5-2 mark at the No. 3 singles spot... Also had a doubles record of 8-11 with partner Jakob Asplund at the No.1 doubles position... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
