2023 (SENIOR SEASON)
Started all 13 games… Finished the season with 41 tackles (23-solo, 18-assist), while adding five pass breakups, a team-high-tying two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery… Had a season-high six tackles and a forced fumble against Idaho State (9/9)… Also had six tackles, to go along with a pass breakup, against James Madison (9/23)… Had a season-high two pass breakups at New Mexico (11/24)… Had four tackles against both Air Force (9/15) and Fresno State (10/13)… Finished the season with multiple tackles in 12 of the 13 games he played in… Had three tackles and a forced fumble against Georgia State (12/23) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl… Other pass breakups were against Colorado State (10/7) and San Diego State (11/4)… Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2022 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Played in 11 games, making 10 starts… Finished the season with 47 tackles (34-solo, 13-assist), which included 2.0 tackles for loss, to go along with a team-best 11 pass breakups and one interception… Had a career-high nine tackles, which included 0.5 tackles for loss, and his first-career interception against Weber State (9/10)… Had two tackles and a career-high three pass breakups at Colorado State (10/15)… Had five stops, including a career-high-tying 1.0 tackles for loss, at No. 1 Alabama (9/3)… Had four tackles and two pass breakups against UNLV (9/24) and three tackles and two pass breakups against San José State (11/19)… Recorded four tackles and one pass breakup against Memphis (12/27) in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl... A Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

2021 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Played in all 14 games, making 10 starts… Finished the season with 44 tackles (33-solo, 11-assist), which included 1.0 tackles for loss, to go along with two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery… Tied for second on the team with his two forced fumbles… Had a career-high six tackles against No. 13 BYU (10/1) and tied his career high with six stops at San José State (11/13)… Forced and recovered his first-career fumble in the season-opener at Washington State (9/4), as he also had four tackles against the Cougars… Had five tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a pooched kick against Colorado State (10/22)… Added five tackles the following weekend against Hawai’i (10/30) and had five more tackles, which included a career-high 1.0 tackles for loss, at New Mexico State (11/6)… Had one tackle and a pass breakup at No. 19 San Diego State (12/4) in the Mountain West Championship Game… Also had a pass breakup at UNLV (10/16)… Earned academic all-MW honors.

2020 (COVID SEASON)
Played in all six games and made his first-career start against New Mexico (11/26)… Finished the season with three tackles, including a season-high two stops against the Lobos… Other tackle was against Nevada (11/5)… Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2019 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON)
Appeared in five games and made his only tackle of the season at San Diego State (9/21).

2018 (REDSHIRT)
Redshirted during his first season at Utah State as he did not play.

HIGH SCHOOL
Earned California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 3 first-team all-area honors from the San Gabriel Tribune at defensive back as a senior at Charter Oak High School in Covina, California, as he helped the Chargers to a 12-1 record, including a 5-0 mark in the Hacienda League, and a trip to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Playoffs... Named all-league as a senior, as he had 10 interceptions and 11 pass breakups for 21 passes defended, and recorded 32 tackles, which included 1.0 tackles for loss... Intercepted a career-high two passes in three different games against Glendora HS, Damien HS and Westlake HS, and had a career-high-tying six tackles against Chino HS... Added 22 receptions for 247 yards and three touchdowns on offense... Had five receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns against South Hills HS... Recorded 18 pass breakups and one interception, to go along with 4.0 tackles for loss as part of his 42 tackles as a junior... Added one fumble recovery and returned one kickoff during the season... Had a career game against Sierra Canyon HS as he recorded a career-high seven pass breakups... Finished his junior season with multiple pass breakups in four games... Also registered five-or-more tackles in four games, including a career-high six stops against Northview HS... As a sophomore, he recorded 24 tackles and had three pass breakups... Also played basketball for Charter Oak HS, as he averaged nearly 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as a senior and 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists as a junior... Earned first-team all-Hacienda League honors in basketball as a junior.

PERSONAL
One of three children of Emmanuel and Blessing Anyanwu... His dad played professional soccer in Europe... Earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from USU in the fall of 2022 and is his master’s in sports management in the fall of 2023.... Last name is pronounced Aun-Yan-Wu.
