HONORS: Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week (9/19/16).

2016 (SR): Played in all 12 games, making 10 starts… Finished the season ranking second on the team with 64 tackles (34-solo, 30-assist) and ranked tied for 36th in the Mountain West with 5.3 tackles per game… Also ranked second on the team with his 3.0 sacks and was tied for third on the team with his 6.0 tackles for loss… Added two quarterback hurries on the year… Was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in USU’s 34-20 home win against Arkansas State (9/16) as he had a career-high 12 tackles, which included 1.0 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss, to go along with a career-best two quarterback hurries in his first career start… Added 1.0 sacks as part of his five tackles against Weber State (9/1) and had 1.0 sacks at Colorado State (10/8)… Had nine tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss, against New Mexico (11/12)… Registered eight tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, at Nevada (11/19)… Had seven stops against both Air Force (9/24) and at BYU (11/26)… Finished the season by recording at least two tackles in all 12 games he played in and at least five stops in six games.

2015 (JR): Played in all 13 games and finished the season with 12 tackles (6-solo, 6-assist)... Had a season-high five tackles at Air Force (11/14), while adding four tackles against Wyoming (10/30) and three stops against Southern Utah (9/3)... Blocked a punt against the Cowboys and was credited with an 18-yard punt return... Intercepted his first career pass at Fresno State (10/10) and returned it 19 yards... Also had one kickoff return against BYU (11/28) for four yards.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Appeared in eight games during his sophomore season at Riverside (Calif.) City College... Ranked eighth on the team in tackles with 39, including 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks... Also had one forced fumble, one interception and three pass breakups as the Tigers went 10-2 in 2014, including a perfect 6-0 mark in the Central Conference and spot in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) championship game.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Spent two seasons at Fresno State, as he redshirted in 2012 and did not play in 2013.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-Tri-River Athletic Conference honors after accumulating 86 tackles and one interception at Clovis (Calif.) North High School. 

PERSONAL: One of two children of Chris and Lora Carmen... Graduated from Utah State in the spring of 2017 with an interdisciplinary studies degree emphasizing in health and wellness.
