HONORS: College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention National Linebacker of the Week (9/20/14); Academic All-Mountain West (2014, 2015).

2015 (SR): Started all 13 games... Finished the season third on the team and 31st in the Mountain West with 78 tackles (24-solo, 54-assist) for an average of 6.0 tackles per game... Also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one pass breakup... Had two double-digit tackle games during the season as he recorded a career-high 12 stops at Utah (9/11) and had 10 tackles against Colorado State (10/3)... Had six-plus tackles in nine of the 13 games he played in... Had 1.0 tackles for loss against both BYU (11/28) and Akron (12/22) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, and 0.5 tackles for loss at San Diego State (10/23)... Also forced a fumble against the Cougars... His lone pass breakup was in the season-opener against Southern Utah (9/3)... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2014 (JR): Played in the first 10 games of the season, including nine starts, before missing the final four games of the year due to injury... Finished the season tied for sixth on the team with 61 tackles (25-solo, 36-assist), which included one sack and 4.5 tackles for loss... Also had four quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and two fumble recoveries... Recorded a career-high 10 tackles in his first career start against Idaho State (9/7)... Named a College Football Performance Awards honorable mention National Linebacker of the Week following his performance at Arkansas State (9/20) as he tied his career-high with 10 tackles, which included one tackle for loss, while adding a career-best two fumble recoveries and one pass breakup... PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Appeared in nine games as a sophomore in 2013 at Utah, recording three tackles (2-solo, 1-assist)... Added one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup... Played in 11 games and started two as a redshirt freshman in 2012 as he recorded 32 tackles (13-solo, 19-assist), which included 2.0 tackles for loss... Also had a forced fumble during the season... Had a season-high eight tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, against Utah State (9/7)... Had six tackles with a forced fumble against BYU (9/15), and five tackles with one tackle for loss against UCLA (10/13)... Redshirted in 2009.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Utah Class 5A first-team all-state honors at linebacker from both the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune as a prep senior at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah, in 2008... Was also named the Region 3 MVP as a prep senior, along with earning first-team all-region honors as both a junior and senior... Named the 2008 all-Polynesian and Nike MVP Linebacker and Bingham HS MVP in 2007... Recorded 99 tackles, 5.0 sacks, six pass breakups, seven quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles his senior year... Member of high school honor roll.

PERSONAL: Born May 25, 1991... One of six children of Tui and Tiana Filiaga... Cousin, Dillon Filiaga, is a linebacker at USU... Cousins, Harvey Unga and Russell Tialavea, played football at BYU... Cousin, Brandon Manumaleuna, spent 10 years in the NFL... Uncle, Frank Manumaleuna, played three years in the NFL... Returned from a two-year LDS Church Mission in Los Angeles, Calif., in December of 2011... Graduated from Utah with a bachelor’s degree in education and will graduate from Utah State in the spring of 2016 with his master’s degree in physical education and sport.. Wife’s name is Chantell and the couple has one son, Leimoni (2)... Last name is pronounced Fee-lee-unga.
