Biography

HONORS: Academic All-Mountain West (2014, 2015); Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2014).

2015 (SR): Played in 12 games, making 11 starts… Finished the season with 38 tackles (21-solo, 17-assist) to rank 10th on the team… Ranked second on the team with six pass breakups and forced one fumble… Recorded a career-high seven tackles at Washington (9/19), to go along with his lone forced fumble on the season… Had a career-best three pass breakups against Colorado State (10/3), while adding four tackles… Posted five tackles in back-to-back games against Wyoming (10/30) and New Mexico (11/7)… Had four tackles and one pass breakup against Nevada (11/21) and four tackles against Akron (12/22) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl… Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2014 (JR): Played in all 14 games and made his first career start against UTEP (12/20) in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl... Finished the season with 20 tackles (12-solo, 8-assist)... Ranked tied for second on the team with two interceptions and added one pass breakup... Recorded a season-high six tackles in his first start of the year against UTEP, and had three tackles against both Air Force (10/11) and Wyoming (11/7)... Also intercepted a pass against the Cowboys that he returned 38 yards... Other interception was against UNLV (10/25)... Lone pass breakup during the season was against Air Force... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Earned California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) all-North Division first-team honors in the Northern California Football Association (NCFA) at cornerback as a sophomore at San Mateo (Calif.) College as he recorded 34 total tackles (26-solo, 8-assist), including 2.0 tackles for loss, to go along with four pass breakups... Helped San Mateo College to a 10-1 record during his sophomore season and a No. 6 national ranking... Earned CCCAA all-North Division first-team honors in the NCFA as a freshman at San Mateo College as he recorded 47 total tackles to go along with four interceptions... Was a member of the Dean's list twice during his two years at San Mateo College.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) All-Mission Valley Athletic League first-team honors as both a wide receiver and defensive back as a prep senior at American High School in Fremont, Calif... Rushed for 996 yards on 155 carries (6.4 ypc) with 10 touchdowns to go along with 41 receptions for 469 yards (11.4 ypr) with four more scores during his senior season, while adding 36 total tackles and two interceptions... Was also named to the Nike All-Combat Team and played in the California All-State game as a prep senior... As a junior, he rushed for 421 yards on 80 carries (5.3 ypc) with five touchdowns and caught four passes for 54 yards (13.5 ypr), while recording 17 total tackles and intercepting three passes... Also competed in track & field in the 100m, 200m and 400m.

PERSONAL: One of two sons of Carnedius and Sharon Hines... Attended the same junior college as current Aggie senior cornerback Bryant Hayes... Graduated from Utah State in the fall of 2015 with a sociology degree..
