Biography

HONORS: Academic All-Mountain West (2015, 2016).

UTAH STATE: A physical linebacker who runs well, which allows him to play both inside and outside... A great leader with a high football IQ.  

2017 (JR): Played in 11 games, making four starts… Finished the season with 22 tackles (12-solo, 10-assist), which included 1.0 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, while adding a forced fumble… Had a season-high six tackles at Air Force (11/25), which included his only sack of the season… Had three tackles, including a season-high 1.5 tackles for loss, at San José State (9/23), and added three tackles at Wake Forest (9/16)… Recovered his first career fumble, while adding two tackles, against BYU (9/29)... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2016 (SO): Played in all 12 games, making seven starts… Finished the season tied for seventh on the team with 43 tackles (17-solo, 26-assist), which included 1.5 sacks and 4.0 tackles for loss, while adding one quarterback hurry… Recorded a career-high eight tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss, against Fresno State (10/22)… Had seven stops, including a career-high 1.0 sacks and a career-best 2.0 tackles for loss, at USC (9/10)… Also had seven tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, at Nevada (11/19)… Added five stops against Air Force (9/24)… Recorded at least two tackles in 10 of the 12 games he played in.

2015 (RS-FR): Played in nine games during the season, mostly on special teams... Recorded one tackle during the year at Fresno State (10/10) and returned one kickoff for nine yards against No. 21 Boise State (10/16)... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2014 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State and was named the Scout Team Defensive MVP.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Utah Class 4A second-team all-state honors at linebacker as a prep senior at Logan (Utah) High School... Was also named the Region 5 Most Valuable Player at linebacker and a first-team all-valley selection as a prep senior in 2010 as he helped lead the Grizzlies to a Region 5 championship... During his senior year, he recorded 77 tackles, including 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble... Was also a two-year letterwinner in basketball... A member of the National Honor Society. 

PERSONAL: One of five children of Bryan and Jackie Larsen... Brother, B.J., was a first-team all-Mountain West defensive end at USU... Served an LDS Church Service Mission in Osorno, Chile... Married former Aggie volleyball player Maddie Day in May, 2016... Graduated from USU in the spring of 2018 with a degree in finance and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in financial economics.
