2013 (R-SR): Played in all 14 games, making 11 starts... Finished the season with 43 total tackles (25-solo, 18-assist), which ranked ninth on the team and third among defensive backs, to go along with 2.0 tackles for loss, nine pass breakups and one interception... Recorded a career-high nine tackles at Utah (8/29)... Had eight tackles at No. 24 Fresno State (12/7) in the inaugural Mountain West Championship game and added six stops against Boise State (10/12)... Also had a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss against the Broncos... Recorded a career-high three pass breakups against Hawai'i (11/2), while his lone interception during the season was against BYU (10/4)... Added two pass breakups against No. 24 Northern Illinois in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

2012 (SR): Played in three games before suffering a season-ending knee injury and receiving a medical redshirt... Recorded one tackle against Southern Utah (8/30) and two against Utah (9/7).

2011 (JR): Saw action in all 13 games, logging 12 tackles (9-solo, 3-assist)... Had three tackles against both Hawai`i (11/5) and San Jose State (11/12).

2010 (SO): Saw action in all 12 games, making one start... Finished the season with 31 tackles (22-solo, 9-assists) and tied for the team-lead with three interceptions... Made a career-best six tackles at San Diego State (9/25)... Also had one pass break-up... Snared all three interceptions in a span of five games, notching oskies in Idaho State (9/11), San Diego State and Louisiana Tech (10/19) games.

2009 (FR): Played in 10 games and posted eight tackles (6-solo, 2-assist), including two tackles for loss and one sack... Made lone start of season against Louisiana Tech (10/24) and had two tackles and one sack... Had a season-high two stops in debut at Utah (9/3).

HIGH SCHOOL: An honorable mention all-Broward County honoree after posting 135 tackles with four interceptions, including one for a score... Added 18 pass break-ups... Helped lead Miramar (Fla.) High School to the regional championship and the Patriots were District 11 6-A runner-up... Received the Ideal Patriot Award... Also lettered in track & field.

PERSONAL: Son of Barry and Valarie Byrd... Graduated from Utah State in the spring of 2013 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies emphasizing in sociology of sport.
