2013 (SR): Started all 14 games... Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors and was named third-team all-Mountain West by both College Sports Madness and Phil Steele... Finished the season 10th on the team and first among defensive linemen with 42 total tackles (7-solo, 35-assist)... Also had 3.5 tackles for loss, including 1.0 sack... Recorded a career-high seven tackles against Wyoming (11/30), and added five tackles against both Colorado State (11/23) and BYU (10/4)... His lone sack during the season was at No. 24 Fresno State in the inaugural Mountain West Championship game... Had 1.0 tackle for loss against FS and UNLV (11/9), and 0.5 tackles for loss against CSU, San José State (9/27) and USC (9/21).

2012 (JR): Played in all 13 games, including starting at Louisiana Tech (11/17) and against Toledo (12/15) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl... Finished the season with 24 tackles (6-solo, 18-assists) to go along with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack... Had a pass breakup at Louisiana Tech and recovered a fumble against New Mexico State (10/20)... Recorded a season-high four tackles against UNLV (9/29) and at San Jose State (10/13)... Registered his first career sack at San Jose State as USU set a single-game school record with 13 sacks in the contest.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent three seasons at Snow College, redshirting in 2009... As a sophomore in 2011, he recorded 23 tackles including 4.0 for loss, to go along with 2.0 sacks and one pass breakup as he earned first-team all-conference honors in helping the Badgers to a 10-3 record and the Top of the Mountains Bowl title.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned first-team all-region honors as a prep senior at Hunter (Utah) High School as he recorded 30 tackles and four sacks... Also a four-year letterwinner in basketball.

PERSONAL: Son of Atofu and Ruita Pataiali'i... His mom played collegiate basketball at Santa Ana (Calif.) Junior College... Has one sister and one brother... Married to the former Cheyene Nebeker and the couple has a son, Kyson... Graduated from Utah State in the fall of 2013 with an interdisciplinary studies degree emphasizing in sociology of sport and administration... Last name is pronounced Pah-tie-ah-lee-e.
