HONORS: Academic All-Mountain West (2017).

2017 (SR): Played in 11 games and finished the season with 18 tackles (6-solo, 12-assist)… Had a season-high six tackles against Idaho State (9/7)… Added five tackles against Boise State (10/28) and three stops at San José State (9/23).

2016 (JR): Played in all 12 games, making seven starts… Finished the season tied for fifth on the team with 45 tackles (13-solo, 32-assist), which included 2.0 tackles for loss, while adding one quarterback hurry… Had a career-high 13 tackles against Air Force (9/24) for the only double-digit tackle outing of his career… Also recorded his only quarterback hurry of the season against the Falcons… Recorded seven tackles against Weber State (9/1), including 0.5 tackles for loss… Had a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss at USC (9/10)… Registered four tackles each in three-straight games against Fresno State (10/22), San Diego State (10/28) and Wyoming (11/5).

2015 (SO): Played in 12 games and finished the season with four tackles (3-solo, 1-assist) and one pass breakup... Had a career-high three tackles at Fresno State (10/10) and added one stop and one pass breakup against Wyoming (10/30).

2014 (RS-FR): Missed the season due to injury.

2013 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.

HIGH SCHOOL: A Utah Class 4A second-team all-state selection, as well as a three-time Honor Roll student at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah... Helped the Mustangs to four-straight region titles... As a prep senior, he caught 11 passes for 102 yards with one touchdown and posted 63 tackles, to go along with two sacks... Had a career-high 11 tackles against Box Elder HS... Also lettered three times in wrestling.

PERSONAL: One of six sons of Anibal and Amanda Huerta... Brother, Fernando, played football at Southern Utah... Married former Aggie gymnast Miranda Kerr in June, 2017... Graduated from USU in the fall of 2017 with a psychology degree, along with a minor in sociology and criminal justice... Last name is pronounced Wear-ta.
