Biography

2007 (JR): Played in all 12 games, starting 10... Fourth on team with 81 tackles (45 solo, 36 assists), including team-leading 8.5 tackles for loss... Also led team with seven pass break-ups... Had two interceptions and one fumble recovery... Had three double-digit tackle games including career-best 11 vs. Nevada... Snared interceptions against San Jose State and at Hawai’i... Fumble recovery came in season-opener against UNLV... Tallied season-best two pass break-ups twice, against Nevada and at Idaho... He and his brother had a pass break-up in the same game three times, at Wyoming, against Nevada and at Idaho. 

2006 (SO): Started all 12 games at safety, one of five players that started all 12 games during the year… His 606 defensive plays were the most on the team, while his 64 tackles were fourth on the team… Led the team with two interceptions, recording picks against San Jose State and New Mexico State… His two forced fumbles on the year came at San Jose State and at Nevada… Had a season-best nine tackles at San Jose State and at New Mexico State… Made seven tackles at Nevada and six at Wyoming. 

2005 (FR): Played in 10 games missing only the Idaho contest… Recorded 19 tackles as a backup safety… Recorded 12 of his tackles in the last three games as he had a season-best five against Nevada, four against New Mexico State and three vs. Hawai’i. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played safety and wide receiver... Defensively, he had 148 tackles and five interceptions as a senior... As a junior he recorded 101 tackles and four interceptions. 

PERSONAL: Born March 14, 1986 in Baton Rouge, La... Son of Doretha Taylor... Legal guardians are Rodney and Patricia Strong... Major is interdisciplinary studies... Enjoys playing video games and relaxing... From same hometown and high school as USU teammate LB Jason Moore and his brother, Joshua.
