Andy Koch is in his first year as an assistant strength coach with Utah State football after spending the previous two years as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant for the Aggies.

In 2023, Koch helped Utah State to six wins and its third-straight bowl game as it played in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Overall, it was USU’s 11th bowl game in the last 13 seasons.

Utah State also had three players garner All-America honors following the 2023 season, while nine players received various all-Mountain West accolades.

During the 2022 campaign, Koch helped Utah State to six wins and an appearance in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. USU also tied for second place in the Mountain Division of the MW with a 5-3 mark as the Aggies had nine players earn various all-conference accolades, including a pair of All-Americans.

Koch played on the offensive line for three seasons for his alma mater, helping the Aggies appear in back-to-back bowl games in 2018 (GILDAN New Mexico) and 2019 (Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco).

As a sophomore in 2020, Koch appeared in five games with four starts. He played in 217 snaps and finished the season with 6.0 knockdowns, including a season-high 3.0 knockdowns against Boise State.

Koch started the first three games of the year in 2019 at right tackle before missing the rest of the season due to injury. The native of Eastvale, Calif., played in 204 snaps, including a career-high 81 against Wake Forest in the season opener. He finished the season with 12.5 knockdowns, including a career-high 8.5 against the Demon Deacons.

In his first season as an Aggie in 2018, Koch redshirted as he played in three games, tallying 47 snaps along the offensive line.

  Prior to Utah State, Koch earned California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 5 first-team honors as a defensive lineman following his senior season at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale. That year, he recorded 67 tackles, included 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks, to go along with two fumble recoveries that he returned for touchdowns.

Koch graduated from Utah State in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
