Cob Summers is in his second year with Utah State as an offensive graduate assistant working with the offensive line.
During the 2023 campaign, Summers helped the Aggies to six wins and an appearance in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, which was its third-straight bowl game and 11th in the last 13 seasons. With Summers on staff, the Aggies led the Mountain West and ranked 25th in the nation in total offense (438.6 ypg). USU was also 26th nationally in scoring offense (33.2 ppg), 30th in rushing offense (184.4 ypg) and 43rd in the nation in passing offense (254.2 ypg).
Utah State had four offensive players garner various all-Mountain West accolades following the 2023 season, including one All-American.
Prior to Utah State, Summers spent the 2022 season at Louisiana-Lafayette as an offensive line quality control coach, where he helped the Ragin’ Cajuns to an appearance in the Independence Bowl. During the year, ULL averaged 26.2 points and 141.8 rushing yards per game.
Summers also spent two seasons (2020-21) as the offensive coordinator at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss., as his unit averaged 268.0 rushing yards per game. During his time with the Bulldogs, two of his offensive linemen earned all-conference honors and three earned scholarships to other programs.
During the 2019 campaign, Summers served as the offensive line coach at Mississippi College, as two of his players earned all-conference accolades.
Summers also spent the 2018 season at Holmes CC as the running backs and wide receivers coach, and assistant offensive line coach. Following the season, four of his offensive linemen signed to play at four-year institutions, two of which earned all-state accolades.
Summers also spent time as a student assistant/intern at both Harding University and Holmes CC in 2018 and 2017, respectively.
Summers played collegiately as an offensive lineman at both Holmes CC (2014-15) and Harding University (2016-17). He was a two-year starter for the Bulldogs and played in the Mississippi Junior College All-Star Game. He then concluded his career at Harding as he helped the Bisons play in the Division II playoffs as both a junior and senior.
