Francisco Llanos (Yah-nos) is in his first season at Utah State as an offensive analyst. In his role, he works with offensive coordinator Anthony Tucker, wide receivers coach Kyle Cefalo and the Aggie wide receivers.
Llanos comes to Utah State from Minot (North Dakota) State University, where he served as the wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator from February of 2021 to June of 2022. Llanos coached Peyton Lamoureux, who led the Beavers in 2021 with 703 yards receiving and six touchdowns on 39 receptions. Nathan Young had a team-high 40 catches for 485 yards and two touchdowns.
Prior to officially joining the staff at Utah State, Llanos spent a month with the New York Jets coaching the wide receivers and working with the special teams, as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. The fellowship has been around for more than 30 years and is designed to give talented coaches with previous professional or college experience the chance to learn through hands-on experience coaching in the NFL with the goal of increasing the number of minority coaches in the NFL.
Before making his was to Minot State, Llanos was the COO/head football coach at the Breaking Boundaries Foundation, an organization built to empower student-athletes and provide a platform to showcase their abilities, and was an assistant wide receivers coach at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi.
Llanos enjoyed a productive collegiate playing career at Southern Mississippi, where he appeared in 35 total games as a wide receiver and kick returner for the Golden Eagles. He was named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week once in 2010.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in sport coaching from Southern Miss, Llanos transferred to Lindenwood University, a Division II school in Saint Charles, Missouri, where he played in nine games.Â
Llanos and his wife, Candice, have two daughters, Andraya and Autumn.
