Steve Reyna

Steve Reyna is in his first year as an assistant strength coach with Utah State football.

Reyna came to Utah State after spending two years at New Mexico State as the Director of Olympic Sports and first assistant for Football Sports Performance.

While at New Mexico State, Reyna helped the Aggies to a 17-11 record and consecutive bowl games, along with playing in the Conference USA championship game in its first year in the league in 2023. He also helped NMSU win the Western Athletic Conference baseball tournament in 2022.

Prior to New Mexico State,  Reyna spent four years at TCU as a paid intern, graduate assistant and full-time assistant. With the Horned Frogs, he worked with football, track and field, and beach volleyball. During his time at TCU, he trained four track and field athletes that went to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Reyna earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Illinois College in 2017 as he lettered in football, playing both cornerback and safety. He then earned his master’s in liberal arts from TCU in 2020. 

Reyna is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

He is married to Emma Reyna, who played soccer at TCU. They have a son, Jett.
