Biography

2009 (Jr.): Started all 12 games, giving him 21-straight starts at QB... One of four offensive players and one of eight overall to start all 12 games... Led the WAC and ranked 15th in the FBS in total offense at 278.6 ypg, setting USU record for single-season total offense with 3,343 yards... Was also third in the conference in passing average per game (204.4 ypg) as well as fifth in the league and 35th in the nation in passing efficiency (137.83)... Also set school record for fewest interceptions thrown with four, a mark that tied for second-fewest in FBS... The 3,343 yards of total offense last year is a USU single-season record, topping the previous mark of 3,260 yards by Anthony Calvillo in 1993... Threw for 2,885 passing yards, which ranks as the No. 7 mark on USU’s single-season passing list and is the most since Jose Fuentes’ school-record 3,268 yards in 2002... Totalled 214-of-366 passing for a 58.5 completion percentage, a mark that is tied for No. 7 on USU’s single-season list, moving his 56.2 percentage from 2008 to No. 10... With 17 TD passes on the year, tied for No. 9 on USU’s single-season TD pass list with Ron Lopez (1991)... Had five 300+ yard passing outings on the season, led by career-high 369 at Idaho... Set a single-game school record for passing yards per completion with 21.1 against Southern Utah with 316 yards on 15 completions... 2008 (So.): After coming in as a backup in the first three games, started the last nine games of the season... One of seven QB’s in the country to lead their respective teams in both rushing and passing, as he tallied 1,705 yards passing and 632 yards rushing... Smashed USU’s single-season rushing yards by a QB record - the previous record was 338 by Leon Jackson III in 2007... The 1,705 yards passing was the most by a USU QB since Travis Cox’s 1,908 yards in 2004... Total offense sum of 2,337 yards was No. 13 on USU’s single season total offense list, becoming the 17th Aggie overall in school history to reach the 2,000-yard plateau and the first since Cox with 2,844 in 2003... Passing completion percentage of 56.2 was ninth-highest in school history... Ranked sixth in the WAC and 68th in the NCAA in passing efficiency (122.1) as well as fifth in the WAC and 72nd in the NCAA in total offense (194.8 ypg)... Was also ninth in the WAC in rushing (52.7 ypg)... Threw for over 200 yards in three games, highlighted by 262 yards at Nevada to go with two TD’s, one of four games where he threw multiple scores... Had season-best 93 yards rushing vs. Idaho while dashing for career-long 61-yard rush vs. Hawai’i... Earned the USU Offensive Player of the Year Award.

2007 (Fr.): Played in eight games, seeing action as wide receiver... Had one catch for eight yards as well as five rushes for 10 yards with a season-long of eight yards... Lone reception came against Boise State, while he had a season-high two carries against Nevada for eight yards... Had three kick returns for 34 yards with a long of 19 against Hawai’i... Named scout team MVP for UNLV game. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Threw for 1,492 yards and 15 touchdowns, while completing 58 percent of his attempts... Was 104-of-181 on the year with just four interceptions... Rushed 137 times for 744 yards and 12 more scores... Was the team’s punter and averaged 39.8 yards with a long of 58... Placed 13 of his 31 punts inside the 20-yard line... Played defense and returned punts as well.
