Biography

HONORS: Academic All-Mountain West (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020).

2020 (SENIOR SEASON): Appeared in all six games, making five starts… Finished the season with 13 tackles (6-solo, 7-assist), which included 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, to go along with one quarterback hurry… Had a season-high three tackles against both San Diego State (10/31) and Air Force (12/3)… Also tied his career high with 1.0 sacks against the Falcons… Added 0.5 sacks against the Aztecs, while his other tackle for loss was against Boise State (10/24)… Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2019 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON): Started all 13 games and finished the season seventh on the team with 51 tackles, which included 1.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss... Those 5.5 tackles for loss were the sixth-most on the team… Also had three pass breakups and one quarterback hurry, to go along with a team-best three fumble recoveries, to rank first in the Mountain West and sixth in the nation (0.23 pg)… Had a career-high eight tackles and a fumble recovery at Wake Forest (8/30) in the season opener… Posted five tackles, including a career-high-tying 1.0 sacks and a career-best-tying 1.5 tackles for loss, at San Diego State (9/21)… Added seven tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss, against Colorado State (9/28)… Also had a tackle for loss against Nevada (10/19), which resulted in a safety… Posted four tackles against BYU (11/2), while adding a fumble recovery and pass breakup… Also had four tackles, including 0.5 sacks and 1.0 tackles for loss, to go along with a pass breakup, at Fresno State (11/9)… Had four tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss, to go along with a pass breakup, at New Mexico (11/30)… Finished the season with five tackles against Kent State (12/20) in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl... 2018 (REDSHIRT): Redshirted the season as he appeared in four games… Had 14 tackles (2-solo, 12-assist), which included 2.5 tackles for loss… Had a season-high six tackles, including a career-best 1.5 tackles for loss, against Air Force (9/22)… Had four tackles at No. 11 Michigan State (8/31) and three stops at No. 21 Boise State (11/24)… Added a tackle for loss at BYU (10/5).

2017 (SOPHOMORE SEASON): Played in 12 games, making five starts... Finished the season with 37 tackles (12-solo, 25-assist), which included 0.5 tackles for loss... Tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, while adding one quarterback hurry and one pass breakup... Finished the year tied for fourth in the Mountain West and tied for 26th in the nation in fumbles recovered per game (0.15)... Had a season-high seven tackles at Air Force (11/25) and recorded at least one tackle in 11 of the 12 games he played in... Also had five stops against both Wake Forest (9/16) and Colorado State (10/7)... Forced a career-high two fumbles, both in the red zone, and recovered one fumble at New Mexico (11/4)... Also recovered a fumble against Hawai’i (11/18)... Added his only tackle for loss during the season against the Rainbow Warriors, while his only pass breakup came against New Mexico State (12/29) in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors. 

2016 (FRESHMAN SEASON): Played in all 12 games, making four starts... Finished the season with 15 tackles (6-solo, 9-assist), which included 1.5 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss, to go along with one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry… Had a season-high three tackles against Weber State (9/1), which included his first-career sack… Had two tackles and a pass breakup at USC (9/10)… Had 0.5 sacks the following weekend against Arkansas State (9/16)… Tied his season high with three tackles, which included 0.5 tackles for loss, at Wyoming (11/5), and finished the year with a season-high-tying three tackles at BYU (11/26)... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) San Diego Section All-Avocado East League first-team honors at linebacker as a prep senior at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, Calif., as he helped lead the Grizzlies to an 11-1 record, a league title and Discovery Bowl Championship... Was also named the San Diego Union-Tribune Avocado East League Defensive Player of the Year and was his team’s MVP as a prep senior as he recorded 65 tackles, which included 5.0 sacks and 10.0 tackles for loss... Also registered two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries... Offensively, he caught six passes for 142 yards and one touchdown... Was selected to play in the AIGA Foundation Polynesian All-American Bowl... Also earned first-team All-Avocado East League honors as a junior as he recorded 52 tackles, which included 4.0 sacks and 9.0 tackles for loss, to go along with one forced fumble and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown... Earned second-team all-league honors as a sophomore... Helped Mission Hills HS win the CIF Open Division Championship in 2013 and advance to the semifinals in both 2014 and 2015... Mission Hills HS also won Avocado East League titles in 2013 and 2014, as well... Also competed in track & field in high school. 

PERSONAL: Parents are Erik and Kimberly Quamme... Has four sisters and one brother... Majoring in sociology... Last name is pronounced Tay-ee.
