Biography

HONORS: Phil Steele Third-Team All-Mountain West (2017, 2018); Honorable Mention All-Mountain West (2018).

RECORDS: Ranks fourth all-time in school history with 160 receptions and seventh all-time with 18 receiving touchdowns... Had four career 100-yard receiving games... Caught at least one pass in each of his final 37 games.

2018 (SR): Earned third-team all-Mountain West honors from Phil Steele's Magazine and honorable mention all-MW honors from the league’s coaches after starting all 13 games... Finished the season leading the team in every receiving category as he caught 66 passes for 709 yards (10.7 ypr) and eight touchdowns... Ranked fifth in the MW and 50th nationally with his eight receiving touchdowns (0.6 pg), and seventh in the conference and 63rd in the nation in receptions (5.1 pg)... Caught at least one pass in all 13 games... Had a career-high-tying nine receptions for a season-best 128 yards against Air Force (9/22)... Other 100-yard receiving game during the season was against New Mexico (10/27) as  he caught seven passes for 112 yards and one touchdown... Had a career-high-tying two touchdown receptions in back-to-back games against BYU (10/5) and UNLV 10/13)... Caught eight passes for 74 yards against San José State (11/10)... Added six receptions for 69 yards at Colorado State (11/17), and six receptions for 76 yards, including a season-long catch of 42 yards, at No. 21 Boise State (11/24)... Had eight receptions of at least 20 yards on the season to rank third on the team.

2017 (JR): Earned third-team all-Mountain West honors from Phil Steele’s Magazine as he started all 13 games... Finished the season leading the team in every receiving category as he caught 48 passes for 569 yards (11.9 ypr) and seven touchdowns... Ranked tied for fourth in the MW and tied for 60th nationally with his seven receiving touchdowns (0.6 pg), and ninth in the conference in receptions (3.7 pg)... His seven total touchdowns ranked second on the team... Caught at least one pass in all 13 games... Had a season-high eight receptions for a season-best 97 yards, including a long of 41 yards, against New Mexico State (12/29) in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl... Had four receptions for 86 yards in the regular season finale at Air Force (11/25), which included a career-best two touchdown catches from 24 and 22 yards... Had seven receptions for 75 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown, against Idaho State (9/7)... Caught six passes for 76 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown, against BYU (9/29)... Had three receptions for 77 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown, against Boise State (10/28)... Also had a career-long 57-yard reception against the Broncos... Added five receptions for 42 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown, at San José State (9/23), and had a 10-yard touchdown catch against Hawai’i (11/18)... Finished the season with a team-best nine receptions of at least 20 yards… Added four tackles during the season and recovered a fumble at San José State.  

2016 (SO): Played in all 12 games, making six starts… Finished the season leading the team in every receiving category as he caught 46 passes for 602 yards (13.1 ypr) and three touchdowns… Of his 46 receptions, 24 resulted in a first down, with nine of those occurring on third down… His 602 receiving yards are the most by an Aggie underclassman since Stanley Morrison had 616 receiving yards in 2009, while his 46 receptions are tied with Pat Newman (1987) for the most by a USU underclassman in school history… Had a pair of 100-yard receiving games as he caught a career-high nine passes for a career-best 143 yards against Air Force (9/24) and had eight receptions for 104 yards at Wyoming (11/5)… Those 143 receiving yards against the Falcons rank as the third-most in school history by an Aggie underclassman and the most since 1994… Also had a season-long 42-yard reception against AFA… Caught his first-career touchdown on a 4-yard reception against Arkansas State (9/16)… Had a 25-yard touchdown reception against Fresno State (10/22) and added a 22-yard touchdown catch against New Mexico (11/12) as he caught six passes for 84 yards against the Lobos… Finished the season tied for the team lead with nine receptions of at least 20 yards… Also had two special teams tackles during the season with both coming against Weber State (9/1).

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Earned honorable mention all-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors at wide receiver as a freshman at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College as he caught 44 passes for 508 yards (11.5 ypc) and three touchdowns... Had a season-high 11 catches for 99 yards against Highland CC... Had a season-high 107 receiving yards against both Butler CC and Independence CC with eight and six catches, respectively... Caught at least five passes in four different games during the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Florida Class 4A District 7 first-team all-area honors as a prep junior as he caught 30 passes for 417 yards and six touchdowns for Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Fla... Had four touchdown receptions during his senior season and earned second-team all-area honors as a sophomore... Also played basketball in high school and earned first-team Palm Beach County West Division honors as he averaged 10.0 points and 16.7 rebounds per game during his senior season as he was named his team’s MVP... An honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Parents are Parrish and Sonya Nixon... Has seven brothers and seven sisters... Cousin, Arron Baker, played football at Alcorn State... First name is pronounced Ron-kway-V-un... Graduated from Utah State in December of 2018 with a degree in sociology and a minor in criminal justice.
