HONORS: Academic All-Mountain West (2015, 2016).

2016 (SR): Played in all 12 games and finished the season with 28 tackles (11-solo, 19-assist), which included 3.5 tackles for loss, to go along with one fumble recovery… Recorded a career-high five tackles against Colorado State (10/8), and tied his career-high with five stops against both San Diego State (10/28) and New Mexico (11/12)… Also had 1.0 tackles for loss against both the Rams and Aztecs… Had three tackles, including 1.0 tackles for loss, at USC (9/10) and three tackles against Fresno State (10/22)… Added 0.5 tackles for loss at Wyoming (11/5)… Recovered the only fumble of his career against Arkansas State (9/16) and returned it 10 yards… Finished the season by recording at least one tackle in 10 of the 12 games he played in... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2015 (JR): Played in all 13 games, making two starts... Finished the year with 18 tackles (3-solo, 15-assist), which included 1.5 tackles for loss, while adding one quarterback hurry... Tied his career high with three tackles against San Diego State (10/23), Wyoming (10/30) and Air Force (11/14)... Also had a career-high-tying 1.0 tackles for loss against the Falcons and 0.5 tackles for loss against No. 21 Boise State (10/16)... His quarterback hurry was against BYU (11/28)... Finished the season with at least one tackle in eight games... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2014 (SO): Played in 13 games and made his first career start at Hawai’i... Finished the season with 14 tackles (7-solo, 7-assist), which included one sack and 2.5 tackles for loss... Also had one quarterback hurry during the year... Notched a season-high three stops against Air Force (10/11) and had two tackles against Wake Forest (9/13)... Had a season-high one sack against both Colorado State (10/18) and UTEP (12/20) in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl... Added 0.5 tackles for loss against the Demon Deacons, while his quarterback hurry was at Tennessee (8/31) in the season opener.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Earned California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) all-Mid-Empire Conference first-team honors in the Northern California Football Association (NCFA) at defensive end as a freshman at Diablo Valley Community College in Pleasant Hill, Calif., as he recorded 62 tackles, which included 11.5 sacks and 27.0 tackles for loss, to go along with one interception and one forced fumble... Ranked second in the Mid-Empire Conference in sacks... Helped Diablo Valley CC rank first in the state allowing just 47.8 rushing yards and 222.9 total yards per game during the 2013 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) all-East Bay third-team honors as a prep senior at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, Calif.

PERSONAL: Son of Paula and Tila Taufa... Served an LDS Church Mission in Nicaragua from 2010-12... Name is pronounced See-oo-wah Tau-fah… Graduated from Utah State in the fall of 2016 with a degree in sociology.
