Biography

2013 (SR): Played in 10 games, making two starts... Finished the season with nine total tackles (4-solo, 5-assist) to go along with 1.0 sack and one forced fumble... Had a career-high four tackles at Air Force (9/7)... Also forced a fumble against the Falcons... Recorded his lone sack of the season against Hawai'i (11/2)... Also had one tackle each against Weber State (9/14), USC (9/21), New Mexico (10/19) and UNLV (11/9).

2012 (RS-JR): Played in eight games and finished the season with five tackles (2-solo, 3-assists) to go along with his first career sack against UNLV (9/29) and his first career pass breakup against Southern Utah (8/30)... Also recorded quarterback hurries against both UNLV (9/29) and Texas State (11/3)... Had a season-high two tackles against the Rebels.

2011 (JR): Redshirted after suffering season-ending injury... Played in the first two games of the season logging one tackle at Auburn (9/3) and three tackles against Weber State (9/10).

JUNIOR COLLEGE: A first-team all-Western States Football League and first-team all-Region I selection at Glendale (Calif.) CC... Led team with four interceptions with two pass breakups along with 44 tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery as a sophomore... Posted two interceptions along with 30 tackles in freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at running back at Eaglecrest (Colo.) High School and was a two-time team captain... Earned first-team Aurora Sentinel all-City honors and was a first-team all-Centennial League selection as a senior after earning second-team all-Centennial League honors as a junior... Rushed for 1,368 yards with 18 touchdowns in senior season, including single-game with 399 yards and six touchdowns... Totaled 963 rushing yards and eight touchdowns as a junior on the way to team and offensive MVP honors... Gained 1,896 total yards and 18 total touchdowns as a sophomore... Also a three-year letterwinner in basketball, helping the Raptors to a 22-4 overall record and 13-1 league mark, advancing to the Great 8 round of the state playoffs.

PERSONAL: Son of Jennifer Carruthers... Has two sisters... Uncle, Gary Richard, played football at the University of Pittsburgh... Graduated from Utah State in the fall of 2013 with an interdisciplinary studies degree with an emphasis in management and sociology of sport. First name is pronounced Tuh-rell.
