Biography

INDIVIDUAL HONORS: Second-Team All-Mountain West (2018, 2019); Phil Steele’s Magazine Second-Team All-Mountain West (2018, 2019).

2019 (Sr.): Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors as he started all 12 games he played in... Finished the season sixth on the team with 55 tackles (30-solo, 25-assist), while tying for the team lead with 5.0 sacks and finishing second in tackles for loss with 9.0... Added a team-best eight quarterback hurries, to go along with a fumble recovery... Had a season-high seven tackles, which included 0.5 tackles for loss, against Kent State (12/20) in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl... Tied his career high with 2.0 sacks as part of his five tackles at New Mexico (11/30)... Also tied his career high with 3.0 tackles for loss, which included 1.0 sacks, as part of his four total tackles at San Diego State (9/21)... Also had sacks against Nevada (10/19) and Wyoming (11/16)... Added 1.0 tackles for loss against Wake Forest (8/30) and Boise State (11/23)... 2018 (R-Jr.): Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors as he played in all 13 games, making 12 starts… Finished the season fifth on the team with 64 tackles (30-solo, 34-assist), while leading the team in both sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (14.0)… His 10.5 sacks are the most by an Aggie since 2005, while his 14.0 tackles for loss are the most by an Aggie since 2015… Led the team with three forced fumbles and seven quarterback hurries, while adding two interceptions, three pass breakups and one blocked kick… Finished the season first in the MW and 12th in the nation in sacks with 10.5 (0.81pg), tied for fourth in the MW in forced fumbles with three (0.23 pg), tied for eighth in the MW in tackles for loss with 14.0 (1.1 pg), and 47th in the MW in tackles with 64 (4.9 pg)… Had one double-digit tackle outing during the season with a season-high 11 stops, including 1.0 sacks, against Air Force (9/22)… Also blocked a 40-yard field goal and added a pass breakup and quarterback hurry against the Falcons… Began the year with a then-season-high 2.0 sacks as part of his four total tackles, while forcing a fumble and adding a quarterback hurry against No. 11 Michigan State (8/31)… Added 1.5 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss as part of his six total tackles, while forcing a fumble and adding a quarterback hurry against New Mexico State (9/8)… Had 2.0 tackles for loss as part of his three tackles and added a pass breakup against Tennessee Tech (9/13)… Intercepted his first-career pass and returned it 56 yards for his first-career touchdown at BYU (10/5)… Also had an interception against San José State (11/10)… Had six tackles, including 1.0 sacks, against UNLV (10/13)… Also had six tackles, including 1.0 sacks, at Hawai’i (11/3)… Recorded eight tackles, including 1.0 sacks, at Colorado State (11/17) and added three tackles, including 1.0 sacks, at No. 21 Boise State (11/24)… Had a career game against North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl (12/15) as he had a season-high-tying 2.0 sacks and a season-high 3.0 tackles for loss as part of his six tackles, to go along with a forced fumble, as he played in just the second half.

2017 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State as a four-year transfer from TCU and was named the Scout Team Co-Defensive MVP. 

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Spent two seasons at TCU, playing in 10 games as a sophomore in 2016 and in seven games as a freshman in 2015... As a sophomore, he recorded 24 total tackles, including 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss... Recovered two fumbles on the year, against Oklahoma and versus Georgia in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl... Also had a sack and forced fumble against Georgia... Had a season-best six total tackles twice, against SMU and Texas Tech... As a freshman, he had seven tackles, which included one sack against Stephen F. Austin.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Texas District 7-6A first-team and honorable mention all-state honors at linebacker as a prep senior at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas.... Was also named to the Star-Telegram Super Team following his senior season as he recorded 52 tackles, which included 8.0 sacks and 15.0 tackles for loss, to go along with 17 quarterback hurries... Ranked as the No. 5 defensive end in Texas and No. 67 nationally for his position by Scout.com.

PERSONAL: One of five children of Lemaefe and Tania Galeai... His brother, Salanoa, was a long snapper for Utah State from 2014-15... Graduated from Utah State University in the fall of 2019 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies... ... Name is pronounced Tee-puh Nah-lay-eye.
