His 20.5 tackles for loss as a senior are tied for the most in Mountain West history... Had 20 career double-digit tackle games, including a career-high 22 tackles against Air Force (10/11/14) to rank tied for the most at the FBS level this season, the fourth-most in school history and the sixth-most in Mountain West history.

2014 (SR): Started all 14 games and earned All-America honors from USA Today Sports (second team), Phil Steele (third team), Athlon Sports (fourth team) and SI.com (honorable mention)... Was also named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and the Defensive Most Valuable Player of the 2014 Gildan New Mexico Bowl after recording 1.0 tackle for loss as part of his 11 total tackles against UTEP, to go along with one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry... Had 156 total tackles (79-solo, 77-assist) on the season to rank second in the nation at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level... Those 156 tackles also rank third all-time in Mountain West history and fourth all-time in school history... Finished the year ranking second in the Mountain West and seventh in the nation in tackles (11.1 pg), second in the MW and 13th in the nation in tackles for loss (1.46 pg), and tied for third in the MW and tied for 39th in the nation in sacks (0.64 pg).... Led the team with 156 tackles and 20.5 tackles for loss, and was tied for first on the team with 9.0 sacks... Ranked tied for first on the team with five quarterback hurries to go along with four pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception he returned 35 yards for a touchdown... Recorded a career-high 22 tackles against Air Force (10/11), which ranked tied for the most at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level this year, and had nine double-digit tackle outings on the season... Was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week twice... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2013 (JR): Started all 14 games... Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors and was named second-team all-Mountain West by Phil Steele and third-team all-Mountain West by College Sports Madness as he ranked second on the team, seventh in the conference and 42nd in the nation with 8.9 tackles per game... Recorded 124 total tackles (47-solo, 77-assist), which was tied for the 17th-most in the nation at the FBS level... His 47 solo tackles led the team, and he was tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries... Also ranked second on the team with 12.5 tackles for loss and was tied for fifth overall with 2.0 sacks... Added one interception, one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry on the season... Was named the College Sports Madness Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week following USU's 52-20 win at Air Force (9/7) as he recorded nine tackles, including 1.5 for loss, to go along with one forced fumble... Recorded double-digits in tackles six times during the season, including a career-high 12 stops against both USC (9/21) and Boise State (10/12)... Also had 10 tackles at Utah (8/29), 11 tackles at San José State (9/27), 10 tackles against BYU (10/4) and 11 tackles at UNLV (11/9) as he notched double-digit tackles in four-straight games against USC, SJSU, BYU and BSU... Notched a season-best 2.0 tackles for loss against both Boise State and No. 24 Fresno State (12/7) in the inaugural Mountain West Championship game... Forced fumbles in back-to-back games to start the season at Utah and at Air Force... Also recovered fumbles in back-to-back games at USC and at SJSU... His first career interception was against Colorado State (11/23)... Had half sacks against Utah, New Mexico (10/19) and CSU... Recorded at least eight tackles in 11 of the 14 games during the season... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2012 (SO): Started all 13 games... Earned second-team all-WAC honors as he ranked second on the team, fifth in the conference and 84th in the nation with 105 tackles (8.1 pg)... Also led the team and ranked tied for sixth in the WAC with 9.5 tackles for loss (0.73 pg) and second on the team and tied for seventh in the WAC with 5.5 sacks (0.42 pg)... Was also third on the team with five quarterback hurries and added one pass breakup... Blocked a punt against Utah (9/7) that was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown... Also forced a fumble at Wisconsin (9/15)... Recorded double-digit tackles five times during the season with 10 stops in each outing... Had 10 tackles in three-straight games against UNLV (9/29), BYU (10/5) and San José State (10/13)... Also had 10 tackles against Utah (9/7) and No. 19 Louisiana Tech (11/17)... Recorded at least five tackles in every game during the season... Had a career-high 3.0 tackles for loss and a career-best 2.0 sacks at Colorado State (9/22), to go along with a career-high two quarterback hurries at Wisconsin... Earned academic all-WAC honors.

2011 (RS-FR): Played in four games, limited by injury... Recorded four tackles with stops against Weber State (9/10), Colorado State (9/24), BYU (9/30) and Wyoming (10/8).

2010 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time all-state and all-region honoree at Clearfield (Utah) High School... Played both wide receiver and safety... Posted 59 tackles with 3.5 sacks and one interception on defense... Led the Falcons with 32 receptions for 355 yards (11.1 ypc) with one touchdown... A second-team all-region honoree in wrestling, helping Clearfield HS to 32-4 record... Also on the Clearfield HS honor roll.

PERSONAL: Son of Jamie and Kayla Vigil... Has three brothers and one sister... Younger brother, Nick, is a sophomore linebacker for USU... Graduated from USU in the spring of 2014 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and earned his second bachelor's degree in business administration in the summer of 2015.
